I’ve tried many shoes over the years for canyoneering. I want ones that stick to wet rock, are durable, and most importantly are comfortable. Until now, I’ve always compromised, going for stick and durability. Not only are they sticky (Vibram Mega Grip), they are durable (didn’t fall apart in Utah’s tiniest slots), they are also very comfortable. I just got back from Utah and wore them through five canyons. They stuck to everything evening the muddy conditions. I even wore them climbing the Grand in the Tetons a couple months ago and I had no hot spots or blisters after the 18 hour up and back trip. IF you have been looking for a wider canyon shoe, then these are for you. They come in both Gortex and non Gortex as well as mid-height size.
I need a roomy toe box, but my feet were lost in these, even though length was right.
Good hiking shoes with great grip Vibram soles for rocky trails. Fit is tight, but comfortable. The problem is I have now had two pairs and both fell apart. The first pair developed tears on the top where the shoe creases back from the toes. With the second pair at five months the sole delaminated on one shoe. Sub-standard construction probably. Will never buy the brand again.
With Vibram lug soles, wrap around rand.Get them while you can because Technica is discontinuing these and changing their line up getting rid of bomb proof fabric uppers opting for leather. If you can get to a store offering CAS molding purchase immediately. I went to local ski shop for this service. The fit is unparalleled.
Very comfortable for a hiking/walking shoe. I've been using these for everyday wear as I have planter fasciitis in my right foot. Great support, even without being able to take advantage of the mold to fit functionality. Only drawback is the lack of color choice and these love dirt and dust.
I bought the plasma s men , when I tried them the y fitted already good but after the molding process they fitted really perfect , have been wearing them ever since on every trip we made in the last two weeks so on our holiday trekking through Tahoe and Napa . Normally I start feeling my feet and lower back after 5 to 6 hours walking but with these shoes i not feel a thing . I don’t even want to take them off when i get back home .
I have narrow feet and am prone to planters fasciitis. These shoes were comfortable when I first put them on, but morphed into lightweight extensions of my own feet. I sometimes forget I’m wearing shoes, and that’s no exaggeration. I’ve put 50 kilometres on them and their comfort is incredible.
