Wear tight, like a muscle shirt, for best results

Typically, in REI brands I wear a M, and in Target sizes I wear a S. This shirt fits more like Target-sized clothing for me. I went with a M and wish I had gone with a S. I'm 5' tall and 120 lbs with muscular arms and a tummy. The M is just too much fabric everywhere. The shirt is baggy in all the wrong places and the arms are too long (see the photo). When I use the thumb holes, the fabric bunches at my wrist. Otherwise the sleeves hang over my hands. I think a S would have been perfectly-sized and likely even complimented my arms. It probably wouldn't have been flattering in the tummy region, but that would give me an excuse to remember to engage my core :) I don't suggest sizing up in hopes to wear a more airy look.

Wear it like a muscle shirt for best results

I like this shirt, but not as much as other sun shirts I've bought from REI. Typically, in REI-brand sizes I'm a M (Small in Target-sizes, for reference). I am athletically built in the arms and shoulders, but I have a tummy. The M is just too much fabric. It's longer and baggier than I'd like and the arms are so long that when I use the thumb holes there is fabric hanging at my wrist. I think the best way to use this shirt is to order the size you wear in other brands (like Target) and expect to be like a muscle shirt: tight-ish everywhere including the tummy. If you try and size up for a looser, more airy fit, expect it to be too large everywhere.

Using for tennis

I bought a size larger than normal so it would be more airy to stay cool while playing tennis. Shirt is comfy and cool, but wish it had a higher neckline for sun protection.

Great sun shirt!

I love it. Light weight. Very light color. But it is very small! I’m a pretty true large but it very much fits like a medium. It’s very tight.
