Overall I've been extremely happy with these shoes but I must take two stars away because they are definitely not waterproof. I discovered this while weed eating wet grass. The outside of the shoes got covered and soaked through to my socks. Compared to my waterproof Timberlands that I can stand in 4 inches of water as long as I would like and not get wet.
The Moab 3 Mid are hands down the best hiking shoes I’ve ever owned. This is probably my 15+ pair. They are comfortable right out of the box. I hike daily between 3-5 miles and longer occasionally. These shoes protect my feet from rocks and provide a sturdy base and ankle support. I change up my colors but they’re always the Moab 3 Mid.

Excellent product, it was what my husband and I where looking for our trip to Colombia
Wonderful hiking shoe. Just completed an adventurous week at Camp Emerald Bay, Boy Scout of America summer camp.
Thank you for the awesome feedback!
My new Moab 3's experienced their first mileage today in the rugged State of Maine and they were two and a half miles of dirty sidewalk with the occasional broken bottles, black ice or the remnants of winter grime. I felt safe and cozy every step of the way! For me, Merrell's are the only way to stride because of the nice fit, quality of construction and, if you can forgive my vanity, the stylish appearance they are known for. The Moab 3 in Beluga are a great choice, I think. There are a few weeks left of deepfreeze and then mud season begins so I expect some difficult miles ahead, but these puppies can take it all. I just wish I had a nice back-country through hike to go on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very comfortable hiking shoes. Its light weight and true to its size. I used it for trail walking. Usually I get blisters while wearing hiking shoes but Merrell Moab 3 didn't give me any. grip and traction is good. Its environmentally friendly which is a plus.
These boots were absolutely perfect for exploring Alaska! From rainforest hiking to city strolling to climbing a mountain, they were absolutely perfect.
My 12yo hiked Hocking Hills in them. He thanked me for them. Its his favorite pair.
Thank you for sharing your great feedback!
These boots really compliment your legs and body, they do feel great when walking up and down trails. Oh and most definitely are water proof, kepy my feet dry and cozy. Overall they feel great and look awesome. 4 stars because I did have to get use to the boot or break them in a little. Bottom of my foot felt like nerves were getting pulled or something. But when I tightend my laces at the tongue it went away maybe I had it too loose and caused my foot to slip into weird positions causing my foot muscle some pain.
My go to disposable hiking shoes. To be clear I absolutely love these shoes. They are the most comfortable hiking shoes I have ever worn and the grip is like that of an approach shoe. Now for the bad... I burned through my first pair in 8 weeks. I got about 200 miles out of them. Even after my first trip in the chiricahua mountains in AZ I noticed some of the tread on the bottom was damaged. Lugs started coming off and it got so bad the shoes became unwearable due to an uneven feeling on the inside where the tread came off. I thought maybe I got a lemon pair. I tossed those and ordered another and now after just three days of peakbagging I lost a big piece of tread. It is very unfortunate because I absolutely love these shoes but they are just inexcusably undurable for what they are advertised as. Please Merrell fix this!
