The utility player of pants

The rock twill is a wonderful material; soft, yet sturdy, with a nice brushed/sueded sheen to them. The internal cinches at the ankle make this a very versatile pant. You can leave them uncinched and they look like normal pants, roll them up for the highwater look, or cinch them and now you have some joggers. Truly can be worn every day. I am 5'10", 30 inch waist, and I grabbed the small/short. They have an even relaxed taper throughout, so they're somewhere between a slim taper and a straight fit. The gusseted construction helps them look nice and fitted without being restricted.

Excellent pants

I brought the first pair of these during a trip to Portland, I wanted some relaxed fit pants that were hard wearing and comfortable, these fit the bill. I was so impressed I’ve just brought a 2nd pair so now have the mustard and olive colored. I like the mustard better as they stand out more from the crowd. Have worn them on day hikes and was impressed, they were super comfortable on a recent 20 hr flight to Singapore via Japan. Would recommend them if you are in the market for a relaxed, tough everything pant,

Great casual pants

I love these pants, they hit that perfect line of multiple functionalities---not so casual I can't wear them at work (admittedly a pretty casual workplace, but I don't like to look like a slob), but also super comfortable and practical for travel and general wear. I will say, as another review mentioned, they did feel really hot to wear at first, even just while sitting around not being active. I trend pretty warm generally but this was beyond that. Nonetheless, I liked them enough that I washed them to see if it would resolve it, and it totally did. They're perfect now. They're certainly not running (or even hiking) pants, as they're still warm when I move quickly in warm weather and from the description they don't set out to be active pants. They're fantastic and I'll get more.

Coin flip on Sizing

There are clearly 2 different variants on this pant with wildly different sizing, and you have no way of knowing which you are ordering till it arrives. One variant has a full removable webbing belt (in addition to the elastic) whereas the other has a partial webbing belt that is attached to the elastic/pant One of these variants fit beautifully for me as a medium, the other (as a medium) I couldn't get over my legs (even if I removed the webbing belt) So Here’s the coin flip: if I wanted to order more... how would I know what size to purchase if I wanted to avoid a return? If the sizing issues were addressed (list them as two products perhaps? Offer sizing guidance?) I would give a 4 for the variant without the full webbing belt and a 5 for the variant with a webbing belt.

Great fit ...with a deeply flawed design

It is a great fitting pair of pants....once you are able to get them over your butt to your waist. There is no opening at the waist nor is there a zipper and unless your butt and your waist are about the same size getting these on is not easily accomplished. And forget about using a urinal when you are wearing these; the lack of a zipper means you have to pull your pants down around your ankles to do your business. This pair of pants is made of a wonderful fabric and but is poorly designed.

Nice pants

You could almost consider these fancy casual jogging pants. I wouldn't jog or workout in them, but they could be worn on untucked work days. Material is a bit heavy, so not really for summer, but they are breathable. They are a bit wrinkly out of the dryer, and even after a week or more on the hanger in the closet, they're still wrinkled. They also are loud when walking. All in all, good pants, but you need to be realistic in what you can do with them.

Awesome Climbing Pants

I was a bit worried about these pants because I am shorter and wider than the typical person that Mountain Hardware Designs for. I hesitantly ordered the pants because of this. When they arrived, I tried them on and was amazed. Perfect fit and the quality was amazing. I've used them for rock climbing in the gym multiple times and they worked flawlessly. The only worry I have is the belt to pull it tight around my waist. But there was no issue here.

Great all around pants, slightly noisy but not a deal breaker

I first purchased these because they were on clearance and I was looking for some comfortable hiking pants. Ended up wearing the pants to work one day for casual Friday and got a lot of compliments. They quickly became favorites and after a month or two I ended up purchasing a second color not on clearance. I liked them that much. They do however have that crisp cotton crinkle when you walk which doesn't bother me but might others.

Comfortable and Climb Well!

I’m a full-time climbing guide in the mountains of Western North Carolina. When I’m not guiding, I’m either rock climbing for fun or skiing and ice climbing in the winter months, so needless to say I spend a lot of time outside. I look for gear that is durable and will stand up to the elements. Additionally, I like to be comfortable, especially when spending extended amounts of time in the elements. The Men's Cederberg Pull On Pant are great! At first I wasn't too sure about these pants, mainly due to the lack of a zipper, but, since I first put them on it's been hard to wear anything else. I've worn these pants for bouldering sessions and multi-pitch trad climbs and they perform well in both disciplines. The gusset construction allows these pants to fit well under a harness, and the stretchy cotton is nice when stemming, heel hooking, and high stepping. To top it off these pants are really comfortable!
