This is a review on the Virginia Beach store’s customer service. Not the bike. I called to see if my new bike was ready. They said it was so I took off work to get it. Get there and it’s not ready. But that’s fine. Then I ask the bike tech to price out a rear wheel with the same setup in a 27.5. He says I have to buy a full wheel set with the front wheel. I tell him I got this bike specifically so I could it mullet with a 29 in the front and 27.5 in the back on occasion. He tells me that isn’t mullet. Mullet is with a wider tire in the back not different size wheels. Please get people who know what they are doing or at least know that they don’t know everything and give customers bad advice. Green vest egos. I plan to pickup the bike tomorrow but I’m not sure if I want to support such bad service.
I love the bike! But REI absolutely put it together wrong! I went for a quick ride and my gears were clicking and catching. Luckily I have a guy who fixed everything for me. I am super happy with my bike! The machine gets a 5/5. But the REI build was awful. The people who helped check me out at my local branch are awesome- this is not on them. I am, and will continue to be a loyal customer, but please have a decent bike mechanic double check any purchases from them!!! Enjoy the trails :-)
Everything I was wanting and hoping for in a MTB. The drop down post and components are amazing. Love the 29. 2.60 tires.
