Rock Shoes: Scarpa recommends you downsize 1/2 to 2 full sizes from street shoe size, though downsizing depends on shoe model, intended use and personal preference.
Mountaineering: Scarpa recommends you upsize 1/2 size or more depending on desired fit. Scarpa plastic mountaineering boots are based on the UK sizing scale.
Ski Boots: All Scarpa ski bootsare measured in Mondo sizing.Highlighted (or not) sizes share the same shell size; the liners are lasted for each 1/2 size. Some skiers may want to downsize up to 1 full Mondo size, depending upon personal preference.

Most important were no blisters, no slipping and ankle support. After hiking in national forests, swamps and city streets, the boots exceeded my expectations. After 100 + miles in a month hiking and camping, the boots simply work. No need for layered socks, or foot gel. I am impressed by the comfort and quality. They are a bit clunky for driving, but doable, even with a clutch. After wearing out hiking boots over the years, nothing is as good as these (including my army boots). They show no signs of wear.
I normally wear 10.5 and my feet are slightly wide-ish but I usually don’t wear wide shoes. Bought a 10.5. Was too tight around my forefoot/little toe but also felt too much heel movement, more than my old size 11 vasque boots. Had enough room for my big toe, wasn’t knocking. Ankle support, even though the boot comes up high, was too flimsy. Well made boot, seemed good quality but overall not a great fit for me. Returned.
I've only been wearing these around town so far, still working on breaking them in, but initial impressions are that they are a good fit for my wide toes and narrow heels. I've noticed that some Scarpa models, notably the Kailash have gotten narrower over the years, so it was a bit worrisome. We'll see when they actually hit the trail of course. My feet measure 9.5 US and usually I wear size 10 US or 43 EU hiking boots. These fit in size 43 EU. I replaced the stock insoles with green Superfeet. The label says Made in Romania, so I guess these are a bit of a lower priced hiking boot; I have a few pairs of Scarpa's that say Made in Italy on them. I hike a lot, and kind of have a dedicated use for these. Will try to update this review later when they get some miles on them.
I have a large number of hiking boots over the years from several different companies. Just about all the major hiking boot company on the planet. This is a great one. In fact, this is my third pair. My first pair I gave away well before they needed to be replaced to a family member who needed a new pair of shoes. I kept my last pair to have as a backup to these beauties I never get to say this but I have zero sore spots the first day I wore them. That doesn't happen for me, ever. They are water proof with the GTX lining, made by one of the best hiking boot maker on the planet. It's not surprise these would be so good, but I am still surprised. I have been wearing Scarpa for about 13 years, I wear them daily and the pair I gave away is a person who can wear out a pair in a very short period. The ones I have them he still hasn't, wearing them every day for work like I did and his are still ticking too. It's not too expensive when you consider they will outlast a couple of pair in its lifetime.
I have owned a ton of hiking boots from a lot of the main makers and this has been my favorite pair of boots that I've ever owned. I have three current pairs that I wear coincidentally they are all Scarpas, but these are the ones that I wear for daily wear as well as day hiking. It has great waterproofing I've stepped in small streams and didn't have any leaking in 4-5" of water. I wore them hard for over a year now and they are still holding up great. One of my favorite things about the boot other than the weight and comfort is the shape of the sole. There is a nice curve to the sole that I notice when walking on flat surfaces that makes it easier to walk and helps compensate for the good support of the ankle. They broke in really easy and within no time at all they fit like a glove. They are still so comfortable I have a hard time wearing any other boot for anything. I wish they still made these because I would like to buy another pair.
Very comfortable boot, and seemingly well built. The soles have really lasted, and I wear them everyday now for probably the last 3-4 months. But the one gripe I have, and it's a frustrating one, is the 3 top lace grommets or whatever they're called, don't seem to be deep enough for the laces to stay in while lacing up the boots. Basically they're the most frustrating boot to put on i've ever owned, but again, once they're laced up they are a great boot. It's almost like the 3 top grommet things have a snap-in feature where the lace kinda clicks in....I don't know what Scarpa was trying to do with this but the things aren't deep enough and the laces want to fall out when lacing and it's frustrating...i've never experienced this with any other boot. Waterproofing seems good, although my feet have gotten wet in them but it could be because my pants got wet due to heavy rain. they are a solid built boot however, that aspect i'm very happy about.
