For dexterity and warmth when ice climbing
I consider my hands to be small, but the medium gloves fit snugly. The design of these gloves allows for maximum dexterity, while also supporting smooth and quick transitions. The added loop on the middle finger allows for quickly stowing gloves with a biner. Attached leashes also allow for quick removal when needed without having to worry about losing the glove. The material on the inner fingers and palm is quite grippy, which I appreciated greatly when trying to clip or hang on to something. I was also surprised by how dry my hands stayed. Overall, these gloves are quite comfortable, flexible and will keep your hands dry.
Worth the price
Dextrous as any glove of this thickness; low bulk, does not overheat, not touchscreen compatible in my experience. True to size, I am a size 10 and the xl fits really well with shorter fingers than some but still plenty of room. Goat leather palms, velcro closure is out of the way, handy hang loops on middle finger, built in wrist loop not removable or adjustable, cuff loops are handy. The precurve of the fingers is dialed in. Have yet to use these on ice, but they're gonna be great as drytooling is a pleasure. These are fast becoming the first glove I reach for, even to ride my motorcycle around town under 30º!
Nice pair of gloves
I tried these out while hiking, cleaning snow off cars, and doing basic winter chores. The grippers are nice for holding shovels, snow blowing, stacking firewood, holding hand saws, my ice chisel, and anything else that may require an extra grip. Most gloves are not really made with gripping in mind... that is where these come in. The wrist leash is nice, especially because I can hang the gloves from my wrists and just use liners to grip my trekking poles if I start to get hot while hiking. The primaloft insulation is warm, and the gloves are very comfortable.
My new Go to all around winter glove.
These are some of the comfiest Grippiest gloves I have put on in a while. The come with both a leash and harness clip attachment, and are just so soft and stable inside. The leather is not sticky enough to grab onto dirt, but holding onto an axe handle should be no problem. My new go to all around gloves. Also I normally run M in gloves and the L in this model is just slightly snug, so follow their sizing chart.
workable
These gloves work alright as ice climbing gloves. They were warm enough to be serviceable and certainly allowed for more dexterity than mittens or other gloves, but they were not nearly as warm as my other ice climbing gloves (which are similarly nimble). They worked great for loading ski gear into my truck. I can’t see myself using them in any backcountry skiing situation.
Great gloves for extreme weather and climbing
I used these gloves in freezing temperatures and bouldered a bit with them and they definitively held up and made being in the cold as comfortable as could be. The goatskin leather on the palms and then waterproof membrane was super helpful when they got wet in some situations. Ultimately, they kept my hands warm, dry and snug. These gloves are a lifesaver for those extreme situations and I would recommend them to anyone having to handle tools, ice climbing gear or maneuvering on cold and rough rocks.
Good Combo of Grip and Dexterity
Perfect for ice/mixed climbing but also any activity that requires good grip while preserving dexterity and warmth - e.g. using ice axes, handling ropes, trekking poles, ski poles. The textured palms provide great grip. The cuff loops are strong and easy to use even with cold fingers. The wrist leash provides confidence in not losing a glove from up high. They aren't the warmest gloves, but dexterity is great in these. So far holding together quite nicely. My palms are 22 cm around and wrist to finger tip length is 22 cm. The XL fit me perfectly. Very comfortable.
Excellent glove for light conditions
The insulation is excellent and there are thoughtful selection of the surface fabrics on different parts of the glove for optimized performance. The inside of the fingers are super grippy, where it needs to be, and the back of the fingers are flexible. The fingers are shaped into a part curl, so you don't feel tension when gripping. The breathable membrane worked well, and I did not build up a sweat inside the gloves - the insulation was dry after using the glove. One drawback of this glove is that the wrists length comes up very short leaving a gap between the wrist and the jacket. Plenty of space for snow to enter the glove or jacket cuffs. Sizing is also tight, understanding that they are sized tight for technical reasons, but this also means less air trapped inside the glove and compressed insulation = colder. This is somewhat compensated for with the shaped fingers. I normally wear an XL sized glove, this glove is very tight compared to other XL gloves I have bought, consider sizing up if you are between sizes.
Best ice glove ever
I have been ice climbing since 1995. Over the years I have realized that the dexterity of my ice climbing glove trumps anything. That ice glove pro is surprisingly warm and climbs very very well. In fact this glove is the best performing glove I have ever had. While not super warm it is plenty warm for a pitch of ice snd at the top I take them off and put them in the oven (AKA on my belly) and then put on a thicker glove. The dexterity and comfort is amazing and dealing with ice screws is easy.
Favorite warm ice glove
These gloves are the best fitting gloves for my small fingers which allow me to have the most dexterity for handling tools and my ice screws. I love these so much that I actually bought a second pair for fear they may get sold out!!! I may actually buy a third pair because I have now been using them for ski mountaineering for the dexterity and warmth and they are great for handling ropes and carabiners. Love these!
