I would buy this product again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the new XL base camp bag. I wanted to order the black but inside color is the same as outside so it makes it difficult to find items. I went with the red which is a great color. I use to own the older version of this bag and one of the main differences I miss on the new one is the backpack straps on the old one were stitched with nylon strap the whole distance corner to corner. The new one is has the nylon strap attached at top and bottom only and under heavy load the shoulder straps curl and become narrow where in old version since strap went corner to corner stitched the whole way over shoulder padding it distributes weight better and feels much more sturdy. All in all still a great product.
Practical, sturdy, eye-catcher
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Duffel Bag XL (in yellow) is not only an absolute eye-catcher, but it's super practical. It fits the exact amount of clothes that was allowed in terms of weight on the long-distance flights and was super easy to carry due to the large comfortable backpack due to the padded handles. Yes it got dirty during the trip, but one wipe with some soap and it all came off without problem. It being so light and easy to store makes the bag an absolute deal-breaker and my favorite - just ordered a second one (in red) for my family!
Sturdy, recognizable & easy to handle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the XL Duffel bag! It has a large capacity and is super light weight, that way you can actually pack a lot. The large straps that come with it are detachable but really make it easy to carry the bag even weighing a whole lot. I got it in yellow and am super happy because I can always spot my bag first. The material is so sturdy, water repellant and super easy to clean with a wet wipe. I would definitely recommend and buy/gift this bag again!

Substantial Duffel
I actually travel extensively for a living and have the North Face structured duffel with wheels which I use all the time and love it. My husband and I bought 2 base camp duffels for our upcoming Patagonia Trek and needed softer bags without wheels. He bought this gorgeous green in XL and I got the Large in camouflage. We love them because they are both stylish and functional. They don't look big, but pack in a lot of items. Because you can fit in so much, be careful the bag doesn't get too heavy to pick up! Having the back pack style straps help to carry the bag a longer distance. I envision getting many uses out of these bags and highly recommend.
Tough, useful and durable...
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this bag for travel to and use on a Kilimanjaro trip. Literally travelled half way around the world, Hawaii to Tanzania. Bag survived 8 flights and 8 days on the mountain without any issues. Bag has very useful pockets and easy to use straps (as well as backpack straps). Main compartment zipper is stiff but hopefully that improves the water "resistance". If you need a rugged bag that you know will survive the airlines and traveling, this is it! Worthwhile investment if you travel and need to move a lot of equipment from A to B. Looking forward to future use in the mountains of the PNW and South America.
Bombproof bag for 1 week adventure
Pros - This bag was the perfect size for a 1 week destination running tour of Northern CA - hitting 100+ miles of trails. I packed 3 pairs of sneakers, hydration pack, head lamps, 5 days of trail running clothes and accessories, 4 different wind/rain jackets; plus 5 days of casual clothes. Filled to the brim the bag came in at 80lbs when I checked it - worth it to pay the overweight fee to have all the essential gear. Received many compliments on it, could spot it a mile away at bag check. Cons - the strap cinches were sewn on upside down, made it annoying to adjust the straps on the fly. Was surprised how filthy it became checking it on the plane, however cleaned easily enough. More inside storage pockets would have been nice. Bottom line, love the bag, I am planning on buying the same bag in the next size up and down - would expect to need the XXL for any trip >10 days.
Love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a tough duffel for traveling via bus to Mexico as the luggage handlers are rough on the luggage. I wanted something that could take it and not leave my clothes everywhere. This delivered. It took me there and back through pushing, pulling, stuffing and even dragging at one point. A nice feature is that it can be broken down smaller and put away. It is rather heavy to begin with however if you want material that can take a beating you have to put up with a bit of weight. I bought the XL because why not, but I think it's a bit too big for me! I may purchase a size smaller next time.
Best Duffle Bag!
First off I want to start by thanking North Face for bringing back the carrying handles. I have a few renditions of the Base Camp Duffle and this one by far is the best yet. This is my first time purchasing the XL - 135 Liter version which I appreciate. Lots of room for international travel especially if you space your clothing and items with cubes, lots of space for domestic travel as well, or if you want to simply stick camping/hunting or fishing gear in it to store in a garage or the back of your vehicle. If you are thinking about purchasing a duffle bag, this one is it. Job well done.
If you need a BIG North Face bag look at this one
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a GREAT big North Face bag perfect to take on my annual snow ski trip to Taos NM and Wolf Creek Colorado. It is also big enough for my backpack and all the stuff I carry to our annual 6 night backpack trip to Rocky Mountains. The size, camo material, and water-proof feature was reason to buy for my 78th birthday to me.
