Comfort & Performance right here!

The Salomon boots Ivy Boa are comfortable yet very reliable. In my opinion the boots are the most important gear for a successful performance. And Ivy Boa, with great balance between softness and resistance, are the boots you want to have when you want to step your game up.

Sizing changed significantly - size up!

Echoing here what other people have written about this boot on various review sites. Size up!!! I've been wearing several iterations of the Salmon Ivy for over 10 years and always loved the boot. The STR8JKT holds your heel in place like no other, especially if you have narrow feet like me. Don't bother with this boot if you have wide feet, but for anyone else it can be a game changer. HOWEVER: the sizing changed significantly over the past 2 years and I'm close to giving up on the boot. In need of a second pair (gear is stuck in Europe), I ordered my same size US 6.5/Mondo 24 as in my 2018 Ivy BOA - and I could barely put it on. I exchanged it for a 7.5/24.5 and it was still too small. So I had to exchange it AGAIN for a size 8/25 - and my big toe is still crushed. Now I can't find the next size up anywhere on the internets and am really wondering why in the world a company would change the sizing of the same model so drastically. Very frustrating.

painful and cold

I've given these a whole season's consideration now and I can only say that I've found not one redeeming quality to write of here. They're cold, I can't feel my toes at all even on mild days. Much worse though is how painful they are on my ankles. They dig something terrible on the ankle bone and leave bruises on my calves. I had them professionally fitted twice now and there's no fixing them, I'm stuck.

Love the features, not the sizing

I typically have problems with heel lift so I love the str8jkt feature that holds the heel down. However, the actual fit of the boot is so bad. They are extremely short and wide. I am a size 6 in just about every shoe I own, and typically size down for ski/snowboard boots because I like a tight fit (previously I rode a size 5 snowboard boot, and I ski 22.5 ski boots). However, in a size 6 of this boot, my big toe extends a full half inch longer than the liner, and I have tons of wiggle room side to side. Unfortunately I bought these right before a trip so didn't have a chance to get a different boot, so I've stuck with these. After a heat mold, heel lifts, separate footbed inserts, and about 10 days on the mountain, my toe no longer loses circulation immediately, but still gets jammed into the front of the boot on heel side turns. And now that they're broken in, the width issue is even more noticeable. I don't have narrow feet, either. I ski a 100 last- even 99 I find uncomfortable. Put the str8jkt on a normal-sized boot and it would be unbeatable.
