Best I've found so far in many years of riding!

Having broken my pelvis many years ago, I have always struggled with finding a saddle that didn't feel like I was sitting on a fencepost after a long ride. I have tried many over the years and so far this is the most comfortable one I've found. The flex feature is great - it has changed my riding style in that I'll stay seated a little longer when hammering on the pedals because the saddle "moves" with you a little. I never liked the "gel" saddles very much; I felt like I slid around on them too much and after a crash or two they always ripped. This one feels like it has a decent amount of cushion without sacrificing durability but time will tell. Overall well worth the price!

Fantastic

I had a very old Ergon saddle on my last bike which I sold so I was looking for another one. I originally tried one of the less expensive models but wasn't totally thrilled with it. I hesitated to spend the money on this one but I'm glad I did because it's super comfortable and is the first saddle I've ridden that I can completely forget about when I'm riding. I've never felt the need to shift position or adjust while pedaling. I really can't recommend this one enough. Sizewise, I was right between sizes and opted for the larger one.

Good for endurance racing

I'm 57, so my muscles are thinning, and my sit bones are needing a bit more love than they used to. After 5+ hours of racing on this saddle, climbing/descending singletrack, my butt doesn't feel bruised. In other words, this saddle works--for me at least. I'm 6'1", 175#, 34" waist, 110mm sitbones, and I use a S/M. I tried the M/L in another model and it felt too wide.

The Ergon SMC Core and Joyful Bliss Regained

How many times have you declined the joy of a bike ride because the length of the ride exceeded the limits of your saddle-misery index? Same here–so often, in fact, that I had begun to have only distant memories of the joyful bliss embraced by Henry Charles Beeching’s boy “Going Downhill on a Bicycle.” Hoping to re-experience that joy, last year I bought the cheaper SMC Sport Gel Saddle, but it offered no better relief than my 15-year old Bontrager racing saddle. So I returned it and asked myself: “Is the extinction of joy deferred worth the price of the SMC Core bike saddle?” I was deeply skeptical, but as a quasi ex-bicyclist wishing to once again share that golden moment of feathery life in air, I chose to believe---and believing made it so. Seven months later, and a few years into my eighth decade, I am still going downhill on a bicycle. The saddle-misery index no longer governs my choices, and I just recently purchased a second SMC Core saddle to outfit my Spinner exercise bike—to experience the joy of going downhill on a bicycle--in my garage.

First Ride A Winner

Great saddle!! I’ve ridden this saddle for approximately 2 hours ( approximately 18 miles) per ride 3 times a week for the past 6 weeks. 100 percent of the time on rooted single track on a full suspension mtb with 100 mm frt / 95 mm rear travel. I’m 59 yrs old @ 160 pounds. My riding style has changed and I stay in the saddle more often than before. I’ve tried numerous suggested comfort/ performance saddles that were comfortable the first hour. The comfort faded after that first hour. This saddle passed the test on my first ride on it….to further emphasize its comfort, I had not ridden my bike in 2 weeks. I tried the small/ medium first. Since I was in between sizes I then tried the medium/ large. Both were exceedingly comfortable, but I felt the medium / large might be a tad wide for my rear. The cutout / channel is definitely a plus. Saddles are a personal component; however, I believe this saddle should be tried for anyone experiencing saddle discomfort on long days in the saddle.

Good Upgrade

I used this seat as a replacement on my Haibike full 7. Much better than the factory seat. 2+ hour rides are much more comfortable now with no numbness.

Best saddle I have tried in years

This is a very, very comfortable saddle. Nice design and dethrones my old favorite WTB who makes excellent saddles as well, but this saddle really raises the bar. Great Saddle!

Good saddle. I have used it twice on multiday rides, but I experience significant discomfort at juncture of my pelvis and interior leg after 40 miles or so and gets worse on the second, etc day. My seat bones are 13cm wide, I followed the Ergon saddle selection criteria. But think the saddle is too wide for me and the it may be the wrong shape for my anatomy. The saddle is relatively flat, I think I need more curvature.

Best saddle I've ever had

This is the best saddle I've ever had. No more shammies, nothing. Long rides, short rides, it doesn't matter. There was no break-in period for me either. I love it.
