I do really like these shorts for several reasons. First, the high waistband is nice. When I were my lower rise bike shorts, I'll have a small gap between my shorts and my jersey where I get sunburned sometimes, so that no longer happens with these. Though -- perhaps it is just because the chamois is new -- I have ridden 400-500 miles in these shorts in the last 2 weeks (yeah, I bike a lot), and still ,it is pretty dang stiff. I have a wide gusset seat to protect my lady parts, but the chamois is so stiff that my lady parts no longer curve into the gusset of my seat -- I am being smashed flat as if I were sitting on a flat bike seat. So, that creates pressure and pain. It is not as bad as if my bike seat were *actually* flat, but still is uncomfortable. Though, if you aren't riding as much as me and don't have discomfort down there currently, then these shorts would be great for you. If they aren't worn in to my body after 500 miles and 5 washes, I am not sure how much more it will take! I am also an XS in Terry Shorts, and I ordered a Small in these. They are comfortable, but a bit loose in the waist band. I have a very narrow waist, so that is common for me. I'd say true to size overall. I also love the spandex. Some spandex shorts (such as POC) really suction you in. I don't like that feel so much in my shorts -- I find it creates pressure and chafing on my hip when I pedal, where the fabric bunches. These ones are amazingly elastic and stretchy and soft. They also do not ride up. The elastic on the legs is very gently and holds for me great. I could wear them all day in that regard -- which I have 4 times now! (five 100+ mile rides in them). Overall, because of the pressure I find they cause, I said that I would not recommend to a friend.

Best Bike Shorts Ever!

These shorts are probably the best bike shorts I've ever had. I didn't think I'd like them when I opened the package. I didn't like the rubber (or whatever it is) around the legs. But once I put them on, wow! They fit great. And the leg openings are comfortable. I didn't have any sausage legs. I particularly love the waist, how it comes up in the back, but is not high enough to bug me. The fabric is smooth and sleek and not too warm. The mesh pockets are fantastic. They are perfect for holding my iPhone 12. Sizing is true and perfect. I highly recommend them.

The best shorts I own

After one long trainer ride I am impressed with these! They stayed put, we’re the most comfortable short I have ever ridden in and after several hours of sitting in them post-ride were still comfortable. I was torn between the bib and short bc most of my other shorts roll down over my curves, a bib usually eliminates that for me but I didn’t want to deal with a bib on gravel rides. These have not rolled once and somehow manage to comfortably fit around my mid section. I purchased primarily for gravel rides but they will be excellent under a mountain bike short as well. I was nervous given the price but I am pleased!

Love the shorts - Dislike the Chamois.

I have had these shorts for almost a year now and wear them off and on. I wish there were a way to choose a chamois upgrade and keep the rest of the short. The shorts themselves fit comfortably, but the chamois is stiff and thicker than most even now after multiple washings and long rides. Otherwise love the higher waist fit, leg bands and mesh cargo pockets.

Not for me

I agree with the other reviewer-the chamois is like a board. Maybe it softens with time? I’m not taking my chances!

best shorts

I have in a medium (5’6 at 130lbs) and they are the comfiest shorts I own. Took them on an 80 mile road ride then another day gravel biking and had 0 issues. Not sure why people are saying they are stiff, I don’t have any issues with it so maybe just a presence thing. Overall I would highly recommend and would absolutely buy again (when they go on sale 😬)

Runs big

I’m typically a size 4-6 and medium is but go too, but they felt a tad baggy and the width/length of the seat padding was overwhelming. May be worth sizing down, but the cost plus the uncomfortable padding isn’t encouraging.

Great Shorts

These are great shorts - the chamis really does the job of keeping you comfortable on long rides. The quality is great, and the side pockets are super handy. Rapha may seem a little pricey, but you really do get what you pay for - a comfortable and durable bike short.
