Winter boot for Alaska

These boots are built and sized for serious snow. I wear women's 9.5 or 10, Euro 40-41. The size 9 was right for me. The heel, toe, and arch hit the right spots. The boot is intended for use with multiple heavy socks and maybe a toe warmer packet, so it will feel too roomy with midweight socks. As boots built for deep snow and deep cold, the rubber is higher and the neoprene is thicker than in the more fashion-oriented models of the same brand. Rather like Dansko clogs, the fit is supposed to have some give as you walk. Grip on wet and dry snow is good. Not made for grip on ice. I wore liner socks, ski socks, fleece leggings, and non-insulated snow pants with built-in gaiters and was dry & comfy hiking in over 12 inches of snow for 4 hours at 20 F.

Great Boots for the PNW!

I love these boots so far. They are sturdy and secure. They keep my feet warm and dry, and are really comfortable. I am really happy with them! My last pair of rainboots (Joules brand) were super cute, but they weren't that comfortable, and they did not keep my feet warm (did a good job keeping them dry). I had to replace the previous pair after a few years because they had a tear in them, and of course let water in. I don't foresee that happening with these! Super happy, and I anticipate wearing these for years.

Sizing issues but love them

I love these, they are comfortable and easy to slip on and off and lightweight. I feel they'll be great when it gets wet, cold, and muddy. I had a problem with sizing and had to exchange. I originally bought Sauvie Slip On Boot Painterly in a size 9 and after putting it on, I had a hard time removing it (I normally wear 8.5). So I decided to get the tall boot and was concerned about the calf width so I called and they told me it was 15 inches which wasn't listed on the website. I also purchased the Patch Slip Vjay (shoes) and had to exchange those for size 8 --- as the size 9 was more like a size 10.

-58 bogs

Very pleased with the -58 bogs. Much more sole support. If your looking for snow/rain protection the -58 is the way to go. They have the double soles. Worth the extra money 100%.

Comfortable and Reliable

It's been roughly a month, and so far I've had great success with these. The boots are SO comfortable, but the width might be a bit too much for me in just one pair of socks. For cold weather, these + multiple pairs of wool socks is perfect. If you have narrow feet you may want to size down, or try before you buy. Glad there aren't seams along the edges and top; they seem to already be holding up so much better than my other boots of brand that shall not be named (rhymes with truck). Not slippery when I'm working on wet concrete, walking over rocky+grassy+muddy hills, or in the snow. The pull on feature is nice, and the width of the top is flexible which is perfect for my big calves. Easy to spray off after stepping in a cow pie :)

Warm and completely waterproof

This is a great waterproof insulated winter boot. Good traction on ice and completely waterproof when submerged. The front center rubber that connects to the neoprene started to peel away after a few weeks of wearing them, but did not affect the integrity of the boot until after two winters of heavy use. I hiked through snow in these boots almost every day before the neoprene tore completely, so I expect they would last three winters just using them for typical street walking and outdoor chores.

Survives Wisconsin farm winter work, Get them!

My fourth pair of Bogs, because of their reliability and because I wear them on a working farm. Nice height, calf allows for my thick muscled calves, easy on/off, and kudos to the new features of a more substantial firm outer sole tread and a good inner sole arch support system to make the boot fit my feet much better. I am skeptical that these will be warm to -58 Fahrenheit as noted on the description (I hope to never test that condition) but they are the warmest pair of winter chore boots I have owned in 65 years. I tested them in the recent Wisconsin Christmas storm blast of 2022 and my feet were not entirely comfortable if I wasn't moving all the time (should have worn a wool sock), BUT that is hopefully an unusual extreme. Long live Bogs! and may their industrial designers continue to innovate.

Good value!

Excellent boot for the price. I added a firmer insole on top of the existing one since I need the arch support and have narrow feet. The boots are sturdy and clean up easily.

Everyone* should have a pair

I'm very happy with how they handle their job. This is my second pair, purchased as a replacement for the 15year old Bogs that are still usable (except on a rainy day). They keep my feet warm and dry. Great in snow and on ice. Very good traction. *My only problem is the sound they make while walking; air gets trapped and expressed if one is wearing leggings. Fixed by wearing leg warmers. It's a minor issue but that "fwip-fwip" can develop a distracting rhythm while walking.
