Highly decent bike!

This bicycle is sturdy, shifts well, and is fully functional. It's light; it's comfortable. From a roadie's perspective, it's a bit too vertical, but if you're looking for a hybrid, it's a solid choice. My regrets to the other reviewer who had brake issues, but that may be an idiosyncratic problem...I've had no brake issues in 500 miles, maybe some stress clunking when I put a lot of torque on the drive train, but nothing unreasonable.

Brake lever is making annoying noise
Life12
Left brake lever is making noise the entire time you ride this bike! I'm not talking about squealing sound from brake pads when you press the lever, no. I'm actually talking about a constant noise coming from the lever itself when you actually don't press it! It's like something is lose inside the left lever and even if you ride on an asphalt road it makes the noise the entire time. As a matter of fact, the only time it's not making the noise is when you press the lever to brake! It's so annoying. Also, the saddle is very uncomfortable, so I decided to try the saddle from my other bike on it, however I couldn't unscrew it! (to remove or adjust the saddle)! It's so overtightened in the factory that it's impossible to unscrew it! And believe me I'm not weak! I'm a man with enough muscle to unscrew these things and I'm into biking for years. There were also some chipped paints on the bike when I received it (I picked up the bike today from store). Overall, a big disappointment and waste of time. I'm returning this bike. In my opinion this is a very overpriced low quality bike from a big brand. I've had a higher expectation from Cannondale. Good thing that I bought it from REI, at least I have peace of mind that I can get my money back and purchase a better bike.

Chipped paint/break rub

So definitely not a good experience for the amount of money this cost on top of a hefty oversized shipping charge. On the front of the bike near the headset it’s very small but there was a paint chip as soon as I took it out of the box. And this bike has terrible brake rub on the front wheel. I don’t enjoy waiting so I’m probably not gonna ship it back. But never again will I order a bike online as now.

Nice flat bar road/gravel bike

I got tired of the drop bar position of my last road bike and decided to try the disc 3. With a few minor changes I'm pretty happy. I swapped the cassette out for a Shimano 11/36 for better climbing and got a slightly wider bar than the stock bar. The disc 3 is fairly light and the steering is very fast, meaning I've got to watch that i don't overreact when entering a sharp turn. Overall its a fun bike and i can take it anywhere i used to ride my old Topstone,

Fatal flaw

I got this bike for 8-day cross state tour on mixed surfaces. Unfortunately a fatal flaw in either components or assembly caused the hub to abrade to front fork metal on metal. I was glad for the tour mechanic helped me get it to the end of the ride with lots of grease and a hub that I could not lock. I’m sad to have to return it because I really wanted to like it. I knew it wasn’t super high end when I got it, but I expected it to last for more than 200 miles

We could never get the gears to work despite returning it to the store 3 times. Finally gave up and returned it but the store had nothing to replace it with. So we will look elsewhere

4 Months after purchase

The bike is okay but needed adjustments after 4 months of use. The front derailer seems to be problematic, initially ok but as time went on, lots of chain rubbing. I called for a REI adjustment as promised in sales agreement but was told that I'd have to drop the bike at Paramus, NJ store for 2 weeks before they worked on it. I'm using the 1 year return after I wreck it for remaining months.

Dissatisfied REI online customer.

I purchased the bike online and REI did not let me pick it up at my local store. I had to pay shipping ($90) to have it shipped from another store in a different state. It was shipped to my home. It came with dirt on the tires. It had been used before I got it. It was disassembled and missing parts when it arrived. I assembled it as far as I could. Took it into my local REI. They are working on fixing the issues. What a hassle!
