Great backpack with good fixes from the older styl

I bought the Osprey Daylite Plus after I saw in the store they finally fixed the biggest gripe I had about it. You can see in the pictures the older style vs this newer one. The older style the outside pockets couldn’t hold a Nalgene and as soon as you bent over or moved with any purpose they always fell out. They finally made the pockets deeper so you no longer have that issue. They have made some other minor changes such as making the top zipper pocket deeper than the older style and the pockets inside the top zipper pocket are now the same material as rest of the bad and not mesh anymore. I’ve used this daypack on a number of hikes and overnight camp outs with the Scouts. It is extremely comfortable and the mesh of the shoulder straps makes it much cooler when it gets hot out. A lot of backpacks give you the sweaty back when out in the heat, but with the Osprey it has ventilation and mesh to try and minimize it. Overall I’d say it does a good job.

Handle rubs against neck
Stef
I was so excited to purchase this day pack, and now I am equally disappointed. No matter how many different ways that I adjust the straps, the handle rests against the back of my neck. I tried wearing it around the house with a couple of water bottles in it, and the back of my next became red from the handle rubbing against it. I am a 5'4" woman. Maybe this would not be an issue for someone taller? I recommend trying this pack on before ordering it. I ordered my from the REI website.

Osprey Daylite pack

I bought this pack for a recent expedition to the Galápagos Islands. The pack was perfect for the documents, iPad, plus other items I needed to take with me. The water bottles pockets are well designed for a large water bottle. The zippered compartments are good for separating items into categories. It was a good choice and size for my intended purposes. I recommend this Osprey pack for your adventures.

Great, Small Multi-Use Pack

I am 5'7 160lb Male and this bag fits perfectly if you like a smaller bag. I have used this bag for everything I do at this point including university work, hiking, skating, biking, fishing, and more. Examples of combinations of items that have fit in this pack include: - 2 Moon Lence Backpacking chairs with snacks, a 1L Nalgene water bottle, a book, phone charger, sunglass case, and a rain jacket - 14 Inch Surface Pro with a large 5 subject notebook, biology textbook, chargers, water and umbrella - Fishing rod with small tackle box, 2 moon lence chairs, water, and snacks. - Clothes and travel gear for 1-2 nights away from home

I’m in love with this

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m in love with this backpack. First of all, it’s difficult for me to find anything in my favorite shade of green(s) (but this has it), so my choice was clear after I decided that this was the pack for me. I love that it has seperate compartments inside, as well as the extra shove it storage in the front. It has just enough space for everything, whether it be a day trip, weekend trip, carry on, and going to class. I use it for everything. You won’t regret this one if you’re deciding between this and the Daylite.

Very uncomfortable at the back of the neck

I really wanted to like this bag. It’s high quality but the top handle of the bag rubs up against the back of my neck and irritates my skin immediately. Biking around the city with this pack to run errands is difficult for the same reason- the bag really sits high and uncomfortably rubs against the back of my neck. Osprey could address this problem by changing the design of the top handle so that it’s just a flexible strap or loop rather than an flat and kind of inflexible part of the back of the bag. It could make a huge difference for cycling. Just bought this and will be returning it.

Well designed and comfortable

The key thing for me with any day pack is whether I’m going to get sick of carrying it. Honestly most of the one I forgot I had it on. The organizing pocket has ample designated spaces for my first aid kit, Matador blanket, headlamp, keys, sunscreen and a few other essentials. The main compartment has plenty of room for a large water reservoir and you still have room to bring some sandwiches and snacks. And it’s really well made. It’s not going to fall apart on you in the middle of Disney World such that you have to spend the rest of the trip with a Goofy canvass bag from the gift shop. Not… that that’s something that has ever happened to me in 95 degree and 800% humidity.

Osprey Daylite Plus: A crime against short people

I wanted this back pack because of the ventilation mesh and foam. It's hard to find a pack that really keeps your back cool (as cool as possible when wearing a pack). But, I am a 5'2" woman and this pack is simply too long for my torso, it chafes near my tailbone, and when I pull it high to avoid chafing, the handle strap cuts into my neck and causing some really bad neck pain. Really wishing I didn't purchase it and will be returning unfortunately. I would not recommend this to anyone on the shorter side. It is surprisingly difficult to find backpacks to fit a 5'2" frame.

Not perfect but close enough

Was looking for a travel day pack which was large enough to be useful for week long trips but small enough for under seat plane travel and day trips. Liking it so far. Pros: nice slim profile but large enough to be useful. I really like the organization: main compartment includes iPad sleeve; smaller compartment for sunglasses, wipes, sunscreen etc. Third small pocket for wallet & phone. Wasn't sure about the front pouch compartment as it isn't secure, but seems to work well for small non valuables like snacks. Cons: won't sit upright! Bottom is sloped, so pack falls over onto the front side. Slightly irritating now, will see how it goes. Also ZERO latch points.

200+ Run Commute Miles And Going Strong

Was psyched to learn I had a shower in my new office so I started commuting to work with clothes, a small hand towel (it's plenty to dry off), and essentials 3x a week. Got this to run with and it is a champ. The waist, chest, and shoulder strap make it as immobile as a loaded pack can be. I do about 8-9 minute miles with it and I don't think it really slows me down much... The webbed pockets on each side and the internal pockets in the smaller section work great for phone, glasses, cards, keys etc. I also have an Osprey smaller pack (don't remember model) that I use for long runs where hydration is required, this has the hydration option but have never used--if the water was in this you wouldn't have much room for clothes etc. I think.
