Rides like a dream
I’m so excited to have this bike. I look forward to many rides along the CA beaches and on the bike paths in my town. I like the ease of shifting and a comfortable seat! When I’m on it, the feel is very smooth, like cruising in an expensive car.
Beautiful color but lacks the quality on component
I just picked this bike up and I have the say the look and the color are beautiful... BUT... I decided to pay a couple more hundreds for a better components bike with hydraulic brake & carbon fork. I would still recommend this bike to people just looking for a basic bike if you don’t mind paying nearly $800 for it after tax.
Terrible corporate customer service
Love the bike - and the customer service at local REI was great! I am here to complain about REI's practice of authorizing consumer transactions. REI will authorize the initial amount due to assure that the consumer has the available amount in their account. This makes sense. Rather than settling that original authorization, REI instead chooses to start a new transaction at the time of shipping to authorize an the actual charge. So for a bike order online, REI has withheld $800 from account and now has charged $800. This leaves the consumer without access to those original withheld funds in their account for up to 10 business days. When talking to customer services, they continue to state they have not "charged" the consumer twice (which is true, I simply don't have access to $800 from my account). REI could authorize the original pending amount, but chooses to hold consumer funds. Consider using a credit card when ordering from REI so they are holding the banks money and not the money from your checking / debit.

Still haven't received the bike. Pick up date was 2 full weeks ago.
