Sizing Notes
For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

I were it once and it kills my leg the spot top on my ankles
Best light mountaineering boots ever
Best mountaineering boots I've ever had. They are so light that you can even use them for regular hiking. No bruises, no blisters even the first day (never happened before with mountaineering boots). I used them in long hikes before a mountaineering trip involving alpine climbing, with edging (13 pitches with 5.8 sections). They are fantastic on snow too and do well with crampons on. Perfect for 3 seasons. It might be the first time I don't take an extra pair of sneakers for approach. TTS for LaSportiva (Italian sizes)
Cold ties when not active
I’ll start with the positive. This a super comfortable boot and very well constructed. I bought these for ice climbing too rope which requires belay. I’ve worn these twice and while the approach is incredibly comfortable (la Sportiva, you guys make the mistake comfortable boot that’s a dream for me) , my toes got super cold while on belay or waiting to climb. Given these boots intended purpose they will go back for something with better insulation. Thd Petzl lynx crampon can be made compatible but I don’t want to see my feet in danger on longer treks and climbs.
Great boots but major flaw
Sadly, disappointed. I've read many pros and only one "con" but the con applied to me. I have thin runner's legs/ankles but my shin was bruised up 5 miles into my hike, in snowy Western NY mountains. The neck of the boot rubbed agianst my shin (front and sides), even unlaced the top part, just to make more room but was just narrow. It was agony hiking back. I tried to give it a second chance, put foam padding around my legs to make it softer, but still put pressure on my shin, And yes, I wore socks, even have padding in front. Otherwise, I totally agree that it is warm, very sturdy and great in snow. I've owned several pairs, including Olympus Mons, Crossfire GTX winter running shoes to name few. So this isn't a good fit for me.
Uncomfortable opening
I got these a couple years ago and only got an opportunity to try them out for a longer trek in snow recently (I wear trail runners almost always). I have the same issue as some other reviewers with the boot putting immense pressure or digging in at the top of my ankle, even with the top eyelets unlaced. I have a sore spot there now, but no bruising. I'm not sure if this is an issue with the boot not being right for me or if it needs more break in time. On the plus side, I have no blisters or hot spots on my feet. I hope the top softens up more with use.
Favorite Boots Ever!
After two years I still love my boots! Great for summer hiking, crampon compatible, backpacking, etc. My flat feet require full shank boots all the time now. The lightweight nature of these boots is appreciated. And they’ve held up very well. No worn spots and I’ve used these for two years nearly every weekend. Very grippy and technical. Only down side is the tongue requires a bit of a break in. Love them!
Super boot for hiking mountain terrain
Very comfortable fit and wear - flexible upper and rocker sole make it super comfortable for hiking mountain terrain, despite the stiff sole. The outer sole and deep lug patter grip extremely well on steep terrain, whether dirt, rock, or otherwise slippery deep fall leaf covered routes. Looks great and inspires confidence. Four season comfort. Fits true to size. Highly recommend.
Best All-Around Boot on the Market!
I absolutely love this boot for many reasons. Bought them in 2022. If I was going to buy one boot for everything, this would bet he boot I'd recommend. PROS 1) Lightweight yet a stiff boot - does not feel like a full shank while walking. 2) Insanely comfortable after short break-in period with the tongue area 3) Warm enough to use snow shoeing in moderate conditions and basic climbs in the PNW summers. (wouldn't use on Rainier for warmth, but other peaks, no problem) 4) Reasonably priced 5) Agile - easy to move over any terrain. Great on snow slopes and over rock. CONS: 1) Short break-in period with the tongue area against my shin. Took a few hikes to soften up. Otherwise no other break-in areas I've had a foot problem where my loose toe joint must be in a full shank stiff boot at all times - even hiking. I've had many boots over the years and every summer the weight of the typical full shank boot makes it rough on my feet over about 8 miles. These boots were a game changer for me due to their lightweight nature yet full shank composition. I hope that La Sportiva continues to make this boot forever.
Bad pressure on ankles
I wanted to like these. Decent fit, good support. But they were rubbing against my ankles in a bad way, causing bruising and a lot of pain. With the way it felt I thought my ankle had been rubbed raw, but when I took the boots off there was nothing but a bruise. But man, when the boot would hit my ankle just right, the pain was stinging!
Shape doesn't suit my foot shape
Toe box too narrow for my feet, wish they fit right but the shape of the shoe might just not work for me
