Lightweight, supportive, easy on the eyes

I kinda love these shoes. I wore them on my regular jogs around my neighborhood over the last few weeks: mostly street, sidewalk, and urban park trails. They are lightweight and unobtrusive. I was clearly wearing shoes, but I almost forgot that they were there, which is a REALLY good thing. They also had the right amount of support for me. My knees/ankles are still in good working order (knock on wood), but someone with joint issues might want a bit more support/cushion than these shoes offer. In terms of style, if I were still running competitively, I would probably want something a bit flashier, but I think these look pretty cool for a casual jog.

Comfortable and light, however after only 60 miles of running, piece of the sole came off. Never have had shoes last less than a month.

Lighweight, comfortable and stylish.

I really liked the fit and comfort of these shoes. Wore them on multiple surfaces (road, mall, treadmill) and for varying distances, they performed very well. When walking in the mall while wearing them, I felt like I was walking on rubber gym mats, every step was cushioned. They fit true to size, maybe a little snug in the width as Solomon's typically run. My only complaint is my left shoe rubbed on my heel a bit. I can't be sure this wasn't my fault for not tying them tight enough, or maybe i have a weird left foot, as the right foot was fine. But the neoprene along the top edge can be tight and prone to rubbing. Otherwise, great shoes, I would buy another pair.

Lightweight Running Shoe

Overall a great running shoe. It did not need a break in period and I was able to do my 7-10 mile runs with minimal issues from day 1. The shoe are great and ligthweight and I love the colors on them. A couple of negatives with the shoes, the toungue seems to sleep down when running even with putting the laces through the tounge. The tounge then bunches up at the end near the toes. I also wear a custom orthotic in the shoe and even with taking out the factory insole the heel is not quite deep enough to accomodate the orthtoic without my heel slipping out a bit. Overall I would buy it again and will keep using it as my primary running shoe for the length of its life.

Makes the miles fly by

This is my first pair of Salomon running shoes, and I love them. I've run 5 days in my new Sonic RA 2's, ranging from 3 to 7 miles. They needed no break-in period, and felt great from day one. They are lighter than many of the running shoes I have been using, but still have good cushion and support. The stiffer mid sole gives the shoe a responsive feel. They do have a unique ankle padding pattern and a roomy toe box.

Salomon Men's Sonic RA 2 Road-Running Shoes

After receiving the shoes it looked better in person than in the photos. The colors were a lot darker which I liked. Lightness: It's not as light as other running shoes but its pretty decent 8/10 Support: I liked the support for my feet while running, good ankle support and I didn't have to worry about the sides caving in like other light running shoes. 10/10 Comfort: I didn't notice any irritation while running with these shoes, also I didn't need to "break in" the shoes. Just grabbed and go. I personally didn't like that my heel feels like it can slip out but its better than back of the heel irritation. I did like the minimal material on the top of my foot. 9/10 This is my second pair of Salomon running shoes and I am impressed with their quality and construction of their shoes.

Solid light weight shoe

I usually wear a more supportive shoe which usually translates into the shoe being heavier, but I wanted to see what a lighter shoe felt like so I decided to veer away from my normal running shoe purchase and try the Salomon Sonic RA 2 road shoes. Its about 25% lighter than my normal running shoe. I'm more into performance than aesthetics, however, I like the subdued look of the shoe. You can wear it running or with casual wear. Some of the things I liked about the shoe: - The shoe had a really responsive ride and good cushioning which put less stress on my knees. - It had excellent traction on wet pavement. - The shoe was comfortable and had a wide toe box. - A lighter shoe with the same cushioning as a heavier shoe is a plus. Some of the things I didn't like about the shoe: - I had mild discomfort in the midfoot area after a short run of 4-6 miles. All in all, I'm enjoying my new pair of running shoes.

This would be my perfect pair of shoes but...

I thought I had found the perfect pair of walking/exercise shoes. At first use, these shoes were fabulous. They have just the right amount of support, (I’ve had plantar fasciitis and shin splints). They were a perfect weight for my taste and visually, I like the style and color scheme. After using them for about an hour of brisk walking it was clear there were issues with a section of rigid support material running laterally across the outer edge of the toe (to be precise, my second toe next to the pinky toe). The transition from mesh to this rigid material created a hotspot that quickly wore a blister on my toe. Unfortunately this design feature ruined what would’ve otherwise been my perfect pair of shoes. That may not be an issue for some people, but for me it is exactly in the wrong location.

my new favorite shoes!

Fit is average in size and width. There is an average to slightly above average amount of arch support. I am a road runner, not trail, so I got these for walking and general use. They are excellent for that, and seem to have enough structure and cushion that I am considering running in them too

Good so far

Never tried on but bought on price - have a pair of Salomon hiking shoes that have been great. Put them on and at first the width across my feet just behind the toes seemed a bit tight. Wore them a couple of short times. Today wore them for a few hours, forgot I was wearing them and not my other running shoes. Have high arches and Thea are neither great support or a lack of support, in between but feel good. I’ve had shoes that seemed wonderful but that quickly faded. Theses seem more like a good shoes that will be good for a long time. Took my hiking boots to Gatlinburg a couple of weeks after an ablation. My wife started slow and day by day made it tougher! Started slow was something like 9 or 10 miles. Shoes were fantastic and so far these running shoes seem to be the same.
