Seams

I found the seams in the toe box area slightly raised, more than I like. There were some small lumps and bumps around these seams that I figured would rub a bit too much for me on a hilly hike. I like that they aren't too rounded in front, they got that part right. I had to return them for something better.

Footbed is remarkably supportive! Stability outstanding! No matter the terrain, the shoe grabs hold giving hiker ultimate sense o security and reassurance that their footing will be firm and controlled. Poor rating however, due to the inner shoe seam where the leather lower leather is sewn into the waterproof fabric. The inner seam presses against the foot in toe and inner top side of shoes. Moderate to strenuous hiking, 5-10 mile legs, which include frequent grade changes & scrambling, makes these shoes a torturous. The inner seam repeated rubbing leads to pain and eventual blisters of nickel & quarter size. The construction of the shoes, where the leather meets waterproof fabric point of contact aggressively rubs on feet with enough friction, that hike must be terminated. Proper shoe size achieved, hiking while wearing darn tough hiking socks and a few other professional grade socks. At first, I thought my my sock choice was causing mild discomfort with rubbing issues.

I love this shoe!

I have high arches and it’s hard to find a hiking shoe with such good built-in support. I usually have to swap out their insole for an orthotic one, which adds to the real cost of the shoe. But not with this one! They’re true to size and have a generous toe pocket. I bought a pair of these a few weeks ago and loved them so much I bought a second pair to have when the first ones wear out. And, I used my REI 20% discount card! Thank you REI!

Nice Looking shoe

They run true to size. Unfortunately, they run wide. The heel slips and your foot wiggles around in the shoe. I would recommend these to anyone with a wider foot and a wider toe area. I had to return them I am a B width and unfortunately, they give you no widths. I would recommend these only to those with wider feet.

Size runs big

My husband and I both bought some Oboz online here. We bought our normal size and both are a half size too big. He wears a 9 men's and I wear an 8 women's.. his other Oboz, purchased in a store, are 9s and fit perfectly. I don't understand why they say the same size but fit differently on him. A little frustrated because I think I'd love them if they fit me right.

Not the same OBOZ quality

I wanted a "cooler" boot for summer hiking. Really wanted to like these, but don't seem to be the usual Oboz quality. There are obvious, uncomfortable seams and "flaps" of fabric that rub inside the toe box. Plus the lacing system is weird, and can't seem to tighten it enough for a good fit. Going to be returned.

I liked them until they broke!

The metal grommet/eyelet at the top that the laces loop around popped off after less than 4 months of occasional wear. I was in a remote location so it kind of left me in a bind, walking around with a shoe that felt like it was only halfway laced up. These shoes were great until they weren't.

Sturdy light trail shoes

I loved these shoes right out of the box. I wore Oboz Sawtooth low for a few years but wanted to try something lighter and cooler. These fit the bill with lots of toe box room and perfect hit on my high arches. The sole is sturdy for my Pikes Peak trail hikes with rocks and obstacles, but with enough give for comfort. I'm going to try a waterproof pair for winter.

Good light-weight hiking shoe

Other than some casual wear, I’ve done one 10-mile hike on moderately rough trails with a pretty light day pack, and the shoes worked fine.
