Solid wheel
Solid wheel for a reasonable price. Takes the abuse of SoCal crunchy trails. You can buy 5 of these bad boys or one carbon wheel.
Quality XT-grade Wheel
I bought this to have a spare front wheel to quickly swap out on a whim, keeping different tires on each of my two fronts for different purposes - one slick/semi-slick for pavement and hardpack, one for chunkier/looser terrain. I paired it with an XT RT-MT800 rotor, with my bike otherwise being SRAM all the way around (more relevantly, SRAM Guide T calipers). For some reason the calipers needed realignment after dropping this in since there was significant pad rub, though that may or may not be more relevant to the rotor. A quick and easy fix, but it caused some initial worry about incompatibility. For those not bike savvy, note that you'll need a rotor with Shimano's 'Center Lock' style mounting, opposed to the otherwise standard 6-bolt systems, or an adapter kit. So far so good - quality build, and Shimano's hubs are very nice.
bent rim, not the spokes but the out part
After my fourth ride on the rim or about 60 miles later noticed the rim was bent in a little where the tire meets the rim.
