- With 21 optimized vents, the AirEvac ventilation system allows goggles and helmet to function as a system, venting warm, moist air away from the goggles—and away from the head
- Koroyd provides superior impact absorption, design flexibility and ventilation when compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction
- Utilizing crumple-zone cylinders that crush uniformly on impact, Koroyd manages energy more efficiently with less volume than traditional protection materials
- Rotational motion can cause brain injuries; with Mips, a low-friction layer slides 10 to 15 mm in all directions, reducing rotational motion to the brain during impact
- Unique pad kit includes 3 sets of sized cheekpads, 2 sets of sized crown liners and 2 neck rolls to ensure a proper fit̵all of which can easily be removed for cleaning
- Pads are made from Hybrid X-Static/XT2 for antibacterial performance
- Ride with confidence, knowing the Mainline is secured with a tried-and-true D-ring chin strap fastener
- Lightweight Aerocore in-mold construction
- Adjustable visor
- Camera- and light-mount compatible

The most confortable Full Face Helmet Ever!!!
After my MTB accident last December 2021 where I had to have reconstructive plastic surgery on my lower lip, and nose, I had to get a full face helmet for my protection. It was a long search since I bought like 5 different helmets and different brands, but neither of them fitted right. Until, a friend recommended the Smith brand, and that was the end of my search since my new full face helmet was the perfect fit for my head combined with the light weight and confortable breathing feeling that allows me to have a clear vision because the interior pouches are softly and confortable.
Always wear your helmets! And this one is the best
Where to start... Maybe with the bad. My ONLY con of this helmet is that the MIPS lining is loud and rattles but I only notice it when I am standing still and trying to talk to friends. I have never noticed this noise while out on the trail either climbing or descending so its not that big of a deal in my opinion. Now on to the good: * Comfortable * Secure * Great air flow * PROTECTS YOUR HEAD IN A CRASH!!! Take it from me, I took a hard crash, banged up my side pretty bad. Luckily nothing broken, and most importantly, this helmet prevented a TBI. I love love love it and have already bought another one and its on its way. Cant say enough about how appreciative I am of this helmet and the protection it provides.
Ok, d ring is blah...
Ok, d ring is blah... doesn't hold up in crashes one crash and this happened
Smith mainline and xl goggles
It’s airflow is very breathable and the helmet is very light!!!!! The finish and is stunning and looks amazing with my bike colors and the field of vision is unparalleled especially paired with the XL goggles!!!
One of the best helmet ive owned
Easily one of the best helmet ive owned. Light and i really felt the quality of it.Solid and felt really protected.Easily costumised to fit my head with different thickness of paddings that comes with it. Some people that owned it complained about the mips being noisy, but i dont. My head mesured at 59cm and the size large fits like a glove.Ventilation is top notch. The only down i guess is the d-ring lock, you’ll have to taked off your gloves to put it in and take it out.But its not really a big deal,30sec isnt that much though.
So far so good
I love the color way of the Sage / Red rock. Fits a little tight in the cheeks for me with the mid-size pads installed, I know it’ll become more comfy once it’s broken in. My previous Lazer Revolution convertible FF had the ratchet fit system which many people prefer. The swappable pads are better for me as I have really long and thick hair so when pulled back into a hair tie the ratchet system couldn’t really secure a great fit over all my hair. The double D strap is new for me so will take a bit to get used to, especially with gloves on, but it is super secure and comfortable. The visor has limited movement but I was able to put my Smith OTW goggles up top under the visor with it in the lower position. A dedicated MTB goggle like the Squad XL might not fit as well, this is one of the bigger issues other reviews mentioned. Another issue was the “noisy” MIPS, I did not experience this with my Mainline. One days ride so far on XC oriented trails (Belmont - Philly PA). Granted it was 50° today I didn’t feel I was overheating or rushing to pop the helmet off after climbing and I was wearing a neck gaiter mask over my face as well (lots of folks on the trail today). For $300 I might’ve gone with a Proframe or 7iDP Project 23 GF instead given the issue with storing some goggles up top and the double D clasp vs the more convenient Fidlock. Overall for $240 (20% off) I feel this was a solid purchase and a good step up to a proper full face that I can take to Blue Mountain or Mountain Creek.
Awesome helmet
Bought this after trying another brand that just did not fit my head correctly. My head measures just over 57cm and a medium fits perfect. Nice and snug, with no wiggle. I was a bit worried about the supposed noise of the mips in this thing, but it's completely silent on mine. I have to wonder if people are wearing helmets too big for them and then it's wiggling around making noises. Plenty of room for a go pro under the visor, or you can run one chin mount as well. Just sugru'd on a chin mount and came out excellent. The fit and finish of this helmet is fantastic and it's very light. Vents really well. The D ring is not quite as convenient as a fidlock, but that's a minor quibble. The extra pads to get fit dialed is a nice touch. Highly recommended.
Punches above it's weight! No pun intended! Great for Aggressive Trail, Enduro, and single crown DH
I bought the Mainline, because I started racing DH this year on my single crown MTB. I have a 2-piece DH-rated helmet, but I wanted something a bit more substantial for actually racing downhill. The Mainline punches well above its weight (It IS LIGHT for a DH-rated full face) for the protection it provides. I was amazed at how light it felt compared to my other helmet, while still breathing incredibly well, and providing great protection. While practicing for my DH race run on race day, the entire mountain lost power, and the lifts went out of service. I ride an enduro bike and race Enduro, so I pedaled up and dropped in for my first practice run of the day. It managed heat well, and kept me reasonably cool. I still managed to get two practice runs in! Thanks to that experience, I'm planning to start using the Mainline for my Enduro racing as well. I just find that I ride looser when I have some protection for my face. The Mainline is a fantastic option.
Replaced my other brain lids. Awesome
I researched lightweight full face helmets to death. I couldn't make up my mind so I decided to try this. My biggest concern is protection. I wanted a helmet that could actually withstand a serious crash. I typically climb anywhere from 1500' to 4500' feet in a ride. Wearing this on the way up in temperatures less than about 65 degrees is fine. Anything hotter and I carry it on my pack. The D Ring enclosure is simply awesome and this helmet will not move in a crash. Also the Koroyd sound is a non-issue. I'm never in the woods having fun and thinking to myself "why isn't this helmet completely silent, this sound has ruined my ride" lol That was my biggest reservation for buying this helmet based off other reviews. Overall ventilation is awesome and it seems like a cheap, reliable insurance policy. It's pretty much become my only helmet now.
Excellent
Noise issues mentioned by others go away almost completely when the cheek pads are properly fitted. The pads should be TIGHT on your cheeks, to the point of minor discomfort. Rule of thumb for any full-face is when fitted properly the skin on your cheeks should move with the helmet when rotated. Instructions even say the compression of these pads should be at 1/3 once on your head. If you follow this instruction you're golden.
