Measure the length of string on a ruler and compare to the size ranges listed in the hat description—there’s your size! When you receive your hat, loosen or tighten the adjustable sizing as necessary for your custom fit. Wearing the hat slightly above eyebrows and ears will allow clear front and peripheral vision.

I love the Sunday Afternoons brand! This hat is adjustable so it fits my 14 month’s small head well, and it will probably fit his head for the next 2 years! It’s perfect to protect his skin from the sun and he doesn’t mind wearing it. I also like the breakaway chin strap, it keeps the hat on his head, but it’s easy to unclip/pull apart if needed. The color options are fun too :)
The best hat all around!
This is only hat my daughter wore from 8 months to 5 years. She was a big asian baby and wore size small which is adjustable till the age 5. Now, I have just put an order for size L. It is light, low maintenance, and above all, it's the only hat my child would tolerate on her head.

Polyester, not Nylon
I have 2 other hats like this, magenta and blue solid colors. They are nylon, which is excellent for moisture and heat management, washing, drying and overall wear and tear. I use them for hiking and kayaking. I have a small size adult head, and the kids large fits me well. However, the blue and red print is polyester, which is none of the above. In the description of this printed hat, specifications for the fabric of this hat are incorrect. I will be returning it.
It's theThe Hat
This head is so good. I bought one for myself at first in Rei store several years ago. I am a petit person 4ft 8 and never had hope that I could find a perfect hat for myself. Not until I met this one. Adult size hats are always too big for me. However, this brand, Size L is perfect size for me. It’s foldable, washable, breathable, sturdy and extremely lightweight. I was thinking what to get for my friends who has kids and this hat turns out to be a nice gift. Price is affordable and doesn’t take much weight or space to travel abroad. I also bought one for my mother as her head is slightly smaller than mine. She loves it and said it’s the best hat she’d ever had.

These are our favorite hats! We got our first play hat when my little one was 10 months and it still fits him at almost 3 with the adjustable tab at the back. The brim and coverage is the best for our Arizona sun. Now we have 3 Sunday Afternoon hats for him- one for school, one for home and one for grandma’s house!
Great sun hat!
I really like this hat, my daughter is 4 and it fits her and still have a little growing room. It covers the whole neck area and the hat is not heavy at all and very breathable. I give it 4 star only because my husband think it is hard to match the clothes, so he always goes for a solid color hat for her.

This hat is awesome. It’s adjustable all over! My 1 year old has a big head- we ordered the L and it was big but I was able to adjust it to fit him- but it has plenty of room to grow with him. The bill is sturdy and it’s great for all outdoor occasions
Great hat
Got the size M for our 15-month old and it fits great. It's very adjustable, and really protects his face and back of his neck well. It cinches down tight under his chin so he can't pull it off. And it's cute! I hope it lasts for a long time.
EZ up for your head.
Great coverage. Firm brim helps shield even in mild winds. It can be seen as a large hat but folds up well and handles hot and humid on the farm to desert chilling in the pool. Highly recommended.
