Sizing Notes

Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements. Some women's pants are available in petite and tall sizes. Typically petite sizes fit women 4'11" to 5'3". Regular sizes fit women 5'4" to 5'8". Tall sizes fit women 5'9" to 5'11".

PETITE: Generally, as compared to regular sizes, petite sizes are 2.5 inches shorter in inseam, 1 inch shorter in body length, 1.25 inches shorter in sleeve length and ¾ inch shorter in total rise.

TALL: tall sizes are 3 inches longer in inseam, 2 inches longer in body length, 2.5 inches longer in sleeve length and 1.25 inches longer in total rise.

Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.

Inseam is measured to the floor.

solid jacket, inaccurate sizing

I was really disappointed with the sizing of this wonderful jacket. I purposely ordered a size up because I know that outdoor gear often runs for thinner, athletic people. This XL fit perfectly on a friend that wears mediums. Great reflective material and right hi-via for road riders.

Windproof not waterproof

To be fair sizing is good, I went larger to fit more layers, hood fits over helmet which is nice. Problem is after 2 rain commute I can confirm it’s not waterproof. My inner layer is soaked. Good to keep me warm and visible but I think for 1h commute I’ll have to try good old rubber/PU gear to stay a bit more dry!

Far from waterproof

I bought this jacket to take to Ireland for a cycling tour. It runs small but and XL worked, my DD chest often has that issue. After the first rain I realized that it is not waterproof at best is is water resistant. I was completely soaked and quite disappointed to have spent so much on a cute ‘waterproof’ rain coat that didn’t work. Cycling in the cold rain is no fun when your core and arms are soaking wet.

Excellent value!

I typically buy used gear as a rule, but this was absolutely worth the splurge for full price NEW gear. Two reasons: chest pocket for phone, and the fitted hood. The bright color and option to ventilate with underarm zippers are an added bonus. I bought my usual size XS and it fits well with room to layer. The only thing that would improve the jacket is more reflective features.

Great Jacket at a Nice Price!

I had been looking for a jacket that met some specific needs - cycling specific (not too baggy, will fit well when I'm on the bike, so arms and longer back) - ACTUALLY waterproof (sorry, everything on amazon!!) and packable. While this doesn't pack down super duper small, it is enough to get by. It also looks cute for just walking around! Some of the reviews said it fits small, I think it fits just fine and would not have sized up - it's slimmer because it's for cycling and not catching wind. I purchased an XS, and I'm typically an XS in cycling gear, including Pearl Izumi and Hincapie brands. Really great find, highly recommend!

Poor design, runs small.

I wanted to like this jacket. I usually wear a L but bought an XL so I could wear layers underneath. It fit like a L. I am 5'8", 170lb. The hood might work well over a helmet. There is an adjustable cord in the back but it's no good if you don't have a helmet on. I wanted to be able to wear it for running and biking. It's going back.

awesome rain jacket on and off bike

This rain jacket does the job and well. I love the pit zips and the double zipper. Almost didn’t get it bc another reviewer talked about the hood falling over head. I just looked bc I was going to put an elastic chord thru for myself but there’s a pull string at back of hood! If you don’t have a helmet on just pull the drawstring and it tightens up! Wow. Thanks REI for an awesome jacket! And love the colors too. Was originally going to get blue to be around city but def appreciate the light colors so I can be seen by motorists and other cyclists.

Great jacket, passed waterproof testing in shower!

Jacket fits true to size, sleeves are great length and have Velcro to tighten at wrist for rainy conditions (if you have short arms, these sleeves may be a little). Pits zippers are WONDERFUL to add some airflow if needed! Hood tucks nicely in neck pocket, snaps closed. Hood fits over helmet, can tighten down when worn without. I have not rode in the rain with it BUT I water tested it in my shower for 3 minutes using 1 overhead and 4 side wall spray and had ZERO leaks- sooo, I’m feeling good about waterproof for upcoming race!! I’ve enjoyed this jacket over the past few months and would buy it again!

Great for Winter Wind

If I could give this jacket 4.5 stars I would. I love the color and fit. The hood is big but that is by design. However I would have preferred that it was detachable. I live in the desert and purchased this for the wind in the winter which is does a great job of protecting me. However because the hood is big when it is rolled up the colllar is a bit too full thus the 4.5 instead of 5. Unlike another review I found the jacket breathable. I did get hot once but that was the under garment I was wearing because even though I was sweating the jacket was dry inside.

Great Value, Sized Up

REI came through with all the features of the best high-end brands at a reasonable price. Side pockets are large enough for my iPhone 13plus. The chest pocket is small, I’ll use it for my car key card as it’s a secure pocket, or tissue or cloth to clean sunglasses. The sleeves are too long for me, but the Velcro tab allows me to push them back up to my wrist and tighten. I normally wear size 2 or XS, but I ordered a Small and it fits my shoulders and length like an XS (5’2, 1110-115 lbs). The jacket is fitted versus boxy, which is both flattering and practical for minimal wind resistance. I can wear an extra layer underneath if needed (Colorado snow/cold rain can surprise), but fitted, nothing fuzzy/boxy/bulky, which is ok since it would be too hot. Not yet tested for waterproof.

Inaccurate sizing fall 2021 jacket release

The reviews about inaccurate sizing are correct in my opinion. I own this jacket made in fall 2019 in size XL and the same size made in fall of 20/21 is about one size smaller by comparison, probably closer to a size L. I believe this happened during minor design changes. It would be great if the REI design team could return to the previous, more accurate sizing for this otherwise nice looking rain jacket with the next update.
