Heaven
This seat makes a huge difference.
Saddle hits the mark for comfort.
The OEM saddle on my Sirrus X 5, was not cutting it after a couple hours on a ride. I tried the Ergon SFC3 base model, couldn't find the upgrade version in stock anywhere (worse than the OEM) and a Serfas MX-3 Dorado Chromoly, too spongy. I also tried add on gel covers without much success. From the first ride with the Bontrager I could tell that this saddle was a good combination of support and comfort. I ride 20-30 miles per day and so far have about 150 miles on the saddle. Also like that there is a add on clip so the rear light can be attached directly to the saddle. One con might be that this saddle is a bit heavier than others I tried (steel rails). I am 5'10' 160 lbs and purchased the smaller size.
Comfortable but defective
Fluid leaked out of one chamber after a little over a year. :-(
Didn't work for me
I was using this saddle on my road bike which is currently connected to an indoor trainer. Unfortunately, this saddle is too wide for me. This doesn't mean that it won't work for you as Saddles selection is very personal. From weight standpoint, this saddle is heavy. However it would have been worth it had the saddle been comfortable enough. So I went to my old standby which is a leather saddle. For those of you who don't know, leather saddles conform to your individual anatomy (after a break in period.) I've used this saddle for many thousands of miles on my other bike so it is properly broken in.
Excellent Saddle for Aging Rear
I never write reviews, but my purchase of the Bontrager Commuter Fluid Saddle for my eMountain Bike has proved to be far more helpful than I’d dared hope for. Those soft spots on the saddle really work — at least for me — in alleviating some of the pressure on the sitz bones (Ischial bursa). My guess is that the process of aging has left me with less natural padding!
My favorite saddle
I ride a low profile Serfas RX on a couple of other bikes, valuing comfort and junk-safety over all else. This one felt great in the store as I handled it, but naturally you can't know till you've ridden for a while. After about a year I have to say it's been amazing. I've put thousands of miles on it and my fella-business is fully intact, zero long term issues and my once-tender bifkin* is now back to it's normal candy-banana shape and texture. This is the European metric term for "taint" if I can say that here. If not, apologies.
Good first impression!
I purchased the 185mm version for my 2021 Trek FX3. I'm 6' 235 lbs. Took my first ride (16.3 miles) this morning. It was much more comfortable than the original seat that came with the bike. I normally ride 10-12 miles a couple times a week.
Uneven Padding
Poor transition of padded surfaces... from cushioned sit bone area to outside surfaces
pretty good, not amazing
It's decently comfortable; it's nothing to write home about
Nice riding upgrade
Excellent replacement saddle for my Trek bike. It definitely has more cushion and makes my ride more comfortable. Very high quality!
