Might be the perfect light jacket
I recently bought this on sale, and I’m so glad I did. First, I appreciate that larger sizes are being made, because some of us are trying to lose weight yet love to bike. Second, the yellow jacket I bought is super bright — cars can’t miss seeing me when I wear this. Third, this jacket is just enough to cut the wind or warm you up a little in fall. (I haven’t tried the vest yet.) Finally, I really like the double zipper, which allows me to zip up from the bottom to ease the fit while on the bike. All in all, for me this might be the perfect light cycling jacket. I’ll have to try it with a fleece underneath as fall gets colder.
An older model is amazing
In 2014 I had just moved to the Bay area and was exploring cycling to work. I impulse purchased one of these (an older model). Now in 2022 I'm back to write a review, still wearing my awesome cycling jacket. I commute ~6 miles each way, 5 days a week, year round. This thing is the single best bit of technical gear I've ever purchased. It is lightweight, it is bright (for safety), it blocks the wind, vents where it needs to, and stuffs down into a tiny ball at the bottom of my pannier. I take the sleeves off all the time; sometimes I wear just the sleeves (I prefer this for night-cycling, as it makes my arms bright when I signal). Sometimes I wear just the vest. It has been surprisingly durable over the years. I recommend sizing up so that you can layer under it during the winter.
Great style but runs small
I absolutely love this jacket. I normally wear 12-14, L-XL, but am a DD the XL fit great every where but the chest I sized up to and XXL which worked great. If you have a larger chest or broad shoulders size at-least one size up.
A great visible windbreaker
This is a GREAT lightweight uber visible windbreaker. It fits well on my skinny frame (I'm 5'7" and ordered a Small) and the arms are long enough for me. I can wear a fleece or sweatshirt under it, and even without extra layers it doesn't flap noisily like many windbreakers. My only complaint is that the cuffs have elastic instead of Velcro, so taking the jacket off over gloves is a bit of a project.
Odd fit; too small
I really wanted to love this, but the sizing was small and the overall tailoring/shape just didn’t make sense. I did size up to be on the safe side, but the shoulders still didn’t allow as much movement as I wanted and it was too tight in the bust (my full bust is 40” but I have relatively narrow shoulders, and I got the XL). Considering I’d wear this over layers of clothes in winter, I need more room. I hope the next version will fit better and that they use yellow snaps instead of the grey ones. (It does seem like an improvement from the zip-off sleeves, at least.)
Poor Design
Wanted to like this jacket/vest combo. There is not mechanism to secure the fabric in the armpit area, so it rides/bunches up in that area with any sort of movement. I even bought an XXL as bike clothing runs small, but it makes no difference. Had to return it.
Great jacket
I left the convertible nature of this jacket and the bright yellow color. The sleeves snap off easily and that is both a plus and minus. You have to be careful putting your arm in the sleeve that you actually do not hit one of the large vented areas and missed the sleeve entirely
Great visibility
Very comfortable and I love the visibility. I usually wear a Medium and had to return for a Large to have enough room for shoulder movement and layering. Will be great to use as a vest next summer!
Like everything except the snaps!
Love the versatility and visibility of this jacket. BUT, wish it had zippers (like the men's version) instead of snaps. When riding with speed or on a descent, it blows out around the armpits and back and acts like my own personal parachute!
the perfect bike jacket!
I love everything about this!! The vest/jacket conversion is perfect for colder weather! I love the ventilation on the upper back which keeps me from sweating. I wear this with a wool baselayer and it keeps me plenty warm in temps down to 40 degrees. The sleeves are super easy to take off while riding if it gets too hot. Great pockets and love that is is packable! Well worth the price.
