Excellent shoes while they last....

I think these shoes are great for someone wanting a minimalist/barefoot shoe. I have a wider foot and am able to wingle my toes freely. The sole has a ton of grip on different kinds of surfaces. I really wanted to love this show but I went through two pairs in a few months. My first pair lasted approximately three months, the instep strap ripped where it contacts the eyelet. My second pair lasted about 6 months, the insoles deteriorating in the first two months, and the interior fabric of the shoe tearing (rendering it unwearable) by month 6. Unfortunately it's not feasible to buy a new pair every few months. I have a pair of Xero boots and they have withstood countless hikes and treks. I wish Xero could apply the same quality to these shoes.

1 year 1,000 mile+ review

TLDR: poor glue holding together a good shoe. If you step in any water you will get wet. Sole may actually make it to 5,000 mi, but the shoe won't. Although I love the shoe I can't recommend it due to build quality. I purchased this shoe in May 2022. I got it to use as my everything shoe while I was in New York for 2 months. According to my Fitbit I was walking an average of 6 mi per day Monday through Friday, with many days going as high as 10 mi. On the weekends it varied anywhere from 3-6 mi. For a total of over 300 mi in 2 months, plus I continued to use the shoe as my everyday walker afterwards. Totaling over a thousand miles since last year. I will say I do love the shoe. It was my first introduction to barefoot shoes. The shoe includes a very thin insole. Many people said there was no point to it. However, I will say I felt the difference when I first got the shoe. Without that insole the shoe was a little too harsh until my feet got used to barefoot shoes. There is plenty of room in the toe box, and had a very comfortable fit. The sole itself had enough traction for any condition I used it in. Loved using them to work out in. Vast majority of The walking I do with these shoes are on pavement. However if you were to walk in anywhere that is a little muddy the soles tend to grab onto dirt more than a regular pair of shoes. Although I have ran in the shoe vast majority of the time was used walking. I personally would not run more than 3 mi in the shoe. Xero claims that the sole can last 5,000 miles. I was very skeptical of that claim considering how quickly regular shoes get worn through. However, after over a thousand miles I believe the sole may actually make it to 5,000 mi. However, there is no way the rest of the shoe would be able to. The midfoot of the shoe is a little wide so although I do have a decently wide foot and the toe box works perfectly. The laces had to be pulled tight in the midfoot to get a proper hold causing some pulling of the lace holes. The laces themselves started to show the internals after a couple of weeks of use. However after a year they have not frayed so that looks like it was just a cosmetic problem. The biggest downside though is the glue on the shoes. On all the major flex points when walking the glue very quickly started to separate the shoe from the bottom. Specifically near the balls of the feet. That point where the shoe flexes near immediately they're starting to be a separation on both sides. Pretty quickly afterwards there was some separation at the heel. Please see pictures to see what I'm talking about. The shoe has a synthetic barrier all around the bottom where it looks like it was made to stop water from entering the bottom of the shoe. However because of how poor the glue is and how low to the ground you are. If there is any water on the ground your socks will be wet. It will seep through all the holes where the glue no longer holds the sole onto the shoe. Although overall I loved The utility of the shoe I cannot recommend it due to the build quality. I most likely will be trying a alternative barefoot shoe next time.

Most comfortable shoe I own!

I'm on my second pair because these shoes are excellent. I purchased mens this time for the slightly wider toe-box to compensate for swelling feet during pregnancy. It was good planning ahead, knowing how my body reacts, but even if I had re-purchased a narrower prio, its flexibility would still have been very comfortable for me. So even if you have wide or chunky feet, these shoes will convince you that you don't have to wear sandals in winter! I've also been pretty impressed with the grip, so don't let the simple tread pattern scare you away... I was skeptical at first based on the looks, but after moderate hiking and tree climbing, they've proven more than sufficient for me.

Great first barefoot shoe

This shoe came out better than expected. I got them at 25% off and ordered the olive and black colors. The olive is really cool in person. It's like a sandstone color with a hint of light olive green. Some people may not like the design of these but I actually do. This comes from someone who typically wears ultraboosts. This is my first barefoot shoe and are generally recommended as such for most people. They're really comfortable. They feel like slippers when you have them. If this your first jump into barefoot shoes take it easy. Start with walks then work your way to trails and running. If you don't walk a lot as your normal routine your transition will be harder due to your body having less time to adjust to these and your muscles having to adjust to a different style of movement. I walk 5-6 miles a day in society's typical modern shoe and these shoes took me about a week to get used to. My calves burned for most of that week as my legs adjusted to more of a mid foot and toe foot strike almost all the time from a heel to toe strike almost all the time. The first day or two I had to really concentrate on making sure I was promoting that mid foot to toe strike by leaning forward more and using my core and shoulders to make that movement more prominent and easier in my steps. Once you get this down it's pretty easy to wear these shoes and your muscles will start to adapt and get stronger. They are really comfortable shoes and the hype you hear about thee type of shoes just might be 100% true.

I really like these shoes

I've had these for a few months, and so far they're the best of several minimalist brands that I've tried (5 Fingers, New Balance, Merrell, Vivo Barefoot, Feiyue). I use them mostly for around the house, walking the dog and strength training. Fit and sizing are just right for me, and the optional insole adds some leeway in sizing and ground feel. I tried them sans insole for awhile, and then with the insole, and found that I like the snugger fit and slight cushioning the insole provides. I prefer a bit more support and cushioning (e.g.Topo) for trail running and ski striding, but I have used them for these activities on occasion with no problems. And, they're priced very competitively compared to other brands.

Favorite Workout Shoes!

So I have two pairs, one for working out at my home gym and an outside pair, and they are by far my favorite workout shoes. I’m not a weight lifter by any means by I appreciate the barefoot stability when doing those exercises (I don’t know if it’s better or not, but 'the mountain' dead lifts barefoot so it can’t be bad). They pack super small for travel so I can’t use that as an excuse anymore, and are solid barefoot running shoes. I also use them for court volleyball which has been really nice and haven’t sprained my ankle since switching (not necessarily recommended). The new colors are snazzy and I really like the new blue color personally.

A Worthwhile Adjustment!

I tried out a casual pair of Xeros about six months ago, but wasn't sure if I was ready to make the switch to a minimalist running shoe. The more I thought back on a recent marathon run in cushiony trainers, the more I remembered blisters, sore feet, and a stride that fell apart as soon as I got tired. I figured the deceased padding might get me in better touch with the nuances of my running, and the widened toe might take some of the discomfort out of the equation. I wasn't disappointed. The Prio are comfortable without being excessively cushioned, and flexible/ lightweight while remaining supportive and sturdy. I'm more cautious of my strike and have a better sense of when to let up if I'm pounding out of fatigue. If you like thinking critically about natural movement and how you run, I highly recommend checking these out!

is this a social media trend?

First impression, for a 90usd shoe this feels downright cheap. I found a crack on the heel that should not have passed quality control. They are wide overall, not truly following the foot anatomy that has nanutaly a narrower hindfoot. That being said This shoes deliver what they promised, a barefoot experience. After 18 months of light use the faux leather on the side is starting to break and I calculate that it will not last too long. The outsole shows significant signs of wear, that is expected of course, but I saw a claim that they would last for 5000 miles, I have not completed that distance, but from the wear pattern that I see it is highly unlikely that they will reach that goal. But overall the concept of the shoes is cool and I would give the brand a second chance... Maybe if more money is spent on quality and less money goes into advertising.

Great shoe but with a short lifespan

I purchased these shoe 5/2023. I love them except the sole is already worn out. (Only .2mm left at the ball of the foot ) the 5000 mile warranty will only cover 60% of the full price of the shoe ( must be the same shoe( if still available) , must have been purchased directly from their website, you call them and file a claim (and upload pictures) if approved, then you pay to send back the old shoes and you pay for shipping and tax for the replacements. It ends up costing too much to replace a shoe that is only good for 6 months.

Disappointed with the workmanship

Finally received my order after waiting for a week on mail delivery. The first thing I noticed after opening the box was a stich came loose on the left shoe. Totally disappointed with the workmanship.
