Good to go…these boot liners fit the bill. I do wash them in cool water in my machine, but hang dry to prevent shrinkage. They do not stay white after a short while.
I typically wear these under another pair of socks and they are great for preventing blisters! Despite the double layer I also rarely overheat in them.
I used these midway through my week long trail crew trip, after having previously used my preferred brand of liner socks for the first half. I got a blister at the end of my first day using these liners. (I literally can’t remember the last time I got a blister hiking or backpacking.) Since I was hiking the same trail back and forth to the work site, the only factor that changed was these liner socks. The texture doesn’t feel as fine as the liner sock brand that I prefer. I will be returning them.
Thick seam in toe section of shoe makes this sock causes blisters
As an avid year round hiker let me just say these liner socks worn inside my Vermont Darn Tough wool socks are a match made in heaven. I hike with waterproof Keen boots in the Maine mountains and I used to get at least one nasty blister on my toes during the longer 12-16+ mile hikes (ascending and descending very steep rugged terrain. These liner socks completely prevent those blisters and they excel in wicking away sweat. I couldn’t be more satisfied with this product and I’m planning to purchase more of these.
Nice socks, slightly thicker knit than I expected for "liner socks". They feel like poly crepe. However, the size chart did not work for me. I wear womens 10 and ordered size L, and they are too small.
I have used these socks for several years now as inner socks in conjunction with Darn Tough hiking socks. I almost never get blisters. They last a long time and are very comfortable. Not even too hot in the summer. With a product like this available, it seems that there should be no excuse for getting lots of blisters, with the possible exception of long days walking through snow.
I was genuinely surprised by how much I loved these socks! When I picked them up in stores, I was surprised by how thin they were and ultimately, didn’t think I’d like them! My boyfriend convinced me to just try them out because “it’s REI and they’re $9. they’ve got to be good” and well, they are!! I took a chance and broke them in during a day’s hike through Hocking Hills and I felt so comfortable and dry the entire time!! They are a cute length too, and stylish! My only issue was that they got dirty so easy, but of course they’re white so I get it!
I have done quite a bit of hiking and I hated getting hotspots/blisters on my feet. After switching to these sock liners I was doing 10 miles with 2000 + feet gain/loss and did not even get a single hotspot. Pair these with darn tough socks and they are absolutely perfect.
Purchased these from recommendation by Darwin On The Trail (those hip to his Youtube channel will know...) and I will say they definitely exceeded my expectations. I did not expect socks under $10 to work so well. I pair them with other athletic socks while hiking and backpacking and have definitely noticed how much less my feet rub and/or sweat with them on. Convinced me to buy several more pairs!
