I figured out the zipper

The zipper complaint is real. It does not want to zip and your first attempt will take a frustrating 5 minutes. But once you do get it to zip, DO THIS: Zip it up a few inches. Then pull the bottom zipper up also. (Essentailly unzipping it from the bottom.) Pull the bottom zipper back down and it wil now be realigned better and easier to zip overall. Aside from that, I love this jacket! I tested 2 others and this was the one I went with. It was the only one that didn't make me feel like I was wearing a too-large garbage bag.

Great jacket - love the fit and features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just got this jacket a couple weeks ago and had an opportunity to wear while hiking in a rain/snow mix yesterday. I love the fit and color and the side zippers make it so that you can actually style it different ways. It is as slimming jacket as well.

Gorton’s Fish Sticks

Excellent lightweight rain shell, very flattering and streamlined. Makes me reminiscent of the fisherman on a package of fish sticks. I didn’t have any troubles with the zippers. Sure, the pockets are a little weird, but I can live with that. I can wear a thick sweater underneath without any problems. I prefer this style over the classic precip because the color is a little more muted and my hips and trunk junk fit it in the jacket a lot better without having to size up and look like a garbage bag. For reference: I’m about 5’3”, 140lbs, I got a size medium in ‘yellow gold’. Hope this is helpful!

Weird pockets were a dealbreaker

Great looking jacket with genius side zips (the wide-hipped among us rejoice!) but ultimately I couldn't get behind those pockets. They were just too awkward to access and I could easily see myself missing the openings and dropping my stuff on the ground. Two other minor cons: the zipper is stiff compared to the lightweight fabric and didn't sit well around the neck area, and there's no hanging loop - you'd be forced to hang it up by the hood or on a hanger. Otherwise, quality seemed great and the fit was perfect.

Good some zipper difficulty

The color is nice, not too washed out but still pastel. It’s very light, which is what I wanted. The pockets are different than what you expect, with a zipper opening so you can reach a pocket on the inside rather than a zipper directly into a pocket. They also unzip so you can have slits on the side of the jacket. I do have difficulty with the main zipper. It also has the ability to unzip from the bottom. I have unfortunately had difficultly getting this zipper to work smoothly even for regular zipping.

nice, but way undersized

size up about 2 sizes if you plan to wear anything under this. I am a medium in everything and can barely zip it. wish they'd list it as such if it runs super tight. nicely made, color is a little duller than I thought it'd be. I like the interior print.

Terrible Zipper

It took me 10 minutes to get the jacket to zipped the first time. I finally caught the hang of it, but it still takes several attempts to zip the jacket closed. I also disliked was the lack of exterior pockets, and the interior pockets do not have zippers. Looks like items could easily slip out. Love the updated PreCip style and fit, but I need a jacket that doesn't require effort to wear. I've never been disappointed in a Marmot item, but this will definitely be returned.

Looks & Fit Great

This is a really nice jacket. Two lower front pockets that can be accessed from the inside, OR the same 2 pockets can also be accessed from the front for your hands. The zipper is not the nightmare that some have reviewed. It's as easy as any other zipper but the insert pin needs to be aligned along the back wall of the retaining box (there is a little track groove on the box that shows you where to insert the pin.

WEIRD sizing !

Apparently made for Schwarzenegger's shoulders, Twiggy's hips, and King Kong's arms. Not really "stretchy" as description would imply. Must have been good ideas originally BUT a failure of execution. Bought as on-line order and returned the next day.

Great color. Runs very small.

I bought an XL. It fit like a medium should. Sizing guide didn't match jacket at all. Crazy difficult to zip, as others said. I thought side zippers were pockets, not so. They let you zip to sit down, I guess, because it's so small?? I see no other purpose of them as they're in front of jacket..weird. I returned it easily. Loved the color. Sad about the rest.
