Misguided other reviews. This monitor is good.

I honestly think the negative reviews on this sensor are mistakenly reviewing the old Polar H7. I had myriad issues just like that. If you started up your app, but didn't start a workout before going to another screen, the sensor would just disappear and couldn't be seen again until you reset it by taking out the battery (or waiting however long it takes to self reset). I have had ZERO issues with this HR sensor so far. Maybe it has issues with older phones and devices, I have no idea. The other reviewers didn't specify models or if they had up to date software. It works fine with a Galaxy S10. I like to use Adidas Running along with Polar Beat which uploads to Strava. Both apps pick it up right away, every time. The H7 would only seem to work with one app. If you loaded Polar, connected, and then started Running app, the HR in Polar would just freeze. Not the case here. I've also stress tested it by intentionally closed the apps, restarted them. and did everything I could to cause it problems, but so far I've encountered none. I have not tested walking away from it or anything. I don't use it swimming. I have used it in the wet and in winter temps down into the 20s. My only complaint is that for a one size fits all, it doesn't seem very versatile in the size department. I am tall and skinny and I had to let it out all the way before it didn't feel too tight.

Quits reading accurately in less than a year.

Bought this to track my running, hiking, and gym workouts. Worked great for about 9 months, then started dropping heart rate readings. Tried new batteries, tried resetting it, tried restarting the app, tried cleaning the strap...... only got worse over time. Now I can lose a quarter of a workout, which is significant when you're tracking a two hour lifting session or a 60 minute run. Add in the fact that this only has a 90 day return window? Not worth it. Only reason I'll try to deal direct with Polar on warranty is because I've already been tracking on their app for almost a year.

It has been a game changer. It accurately reports my heart rate, and my percent max heart rate as well as tracks my calories. I am now not sure how I ever successfully exercise without it! Does not work after 3 uses

I have unpaired, removed and re-installed the Polar Beats mobile app, and also followed the directions about resetting the H10 by removing and replacing battery. It paired with my phone's bluetooth but it still cannot be found by the Polar Beats mobile app HR Sensor. I'm using Samsung S23. I followed directions on website and contacted support. Despite the reviews, I bought this thinking it should be more precise than the watch since it is worn on the chest and closer to the heart, but unfortunately the app cannot find it, so what's the use! It worked about 3x and then it just could not locate it.

Nope

Be aware. In order to conserve battery, you should remove the unit from the strap or undo one side. Otherwise, it will run your batteries down in no time. Eventually it will connect with but not give valid data to your wahoo trainer (potential other trainers) though inexplicably it will work just fine with the app on your phone. The level of support you will get form the company will likewise be terrible. Not a great story. This is not brain surgery or rocket science. It is not reliable kit and I am done with this company and their products. Next up, tickr. I am an experienced director of technology and this is not user error. Lousy product. Lated and operated well for under 1 year.

Worked great until it didn't

I got this back in Nov of 2020. It worked great for a short time. Paired with all my devices flawlessly—iphone, Wahoo Element, Wahoo Trainer. Then 3 months later it stopped working one day. It had plenty of battery life and it still paired with all my devices but got no HR reading. I tried all my devices. It paired with all of them but still no HR reading. I did all the recommendations on Polar's help site. Reset the HR monitor, Re-paired with all my devices, changed the battery even though it said full battery signal. I even reset some the devices – nothing worked. Next day I can't even get it t pair with anything. I've only had this 3 months! My garmin lasted me years with zero problems. I'll be returning it for another brand.

Junk - don’t buy it

Junk. Second time I’ve had one last less than a year. Bought it in July 2024 and it failed this week. If it’s not intended for everyday use, they should say so. If it’s marketed for people who want to pretend they exercise, be up front about it. It’s not for athletes. And, of course, REI won’t stand behind it after 90 days.

Not for lady swimmers but otherwise OK

Very hard time keeping it in place in the pool. I’m a woman and a swimmer. That affects its ability to stay on. It would have helped if REI had sold a smaller size belt instead of the one size fits all. I almost returned it. Finally got a smaller belt on eBay. A different belt from Polar cost half as much as the entire unit. When it does work it works well but it works better on dry land sports like the treadmill and maybe for men who don’t have to deal with three impediments from keeping it in place during a swim - the suit, and mammary glands. I don’t recommend buying this size from REI if you are a smaller woman who wants to use it primarily for swimming.

App is Flaky

The app has found more ways to screw up a training session than anything I have ever used. See first screen shot, taken afte a 1+ hour session, in which the app was started. Then the second screen shot, taken seconds after the first. Now it's ready to go. Gimmy a break!!!!!

Polar H10s are rock solid

I purchased 3 Polar H10 transmitters and find they are dependable and they function flawlessly. They sync easily with the Polar Beat App on an iPhone as well as the Polar Vantage V watch, and they maintain the Bluetooth connection uninterruptedly during training. The new chest straps are much more comfortable than the earlier versions of chest straps. I've been using Polar Heart Rate products for decades and have found them durable and dependable, and the H10 is no exception. I have recommended the H10 to friends and family.

Most Accurate HRM

I have 3 heart rate monitors. The Polar H10 works all the time without any messing around. I have a Garmin that sometimes reads double to triple my actual HR for the first 15 minutes. I have a Tickr that reads erratically for the first 15 minutes or so unless I soak it with water ahead of time. Then it usually works OK. I trust the Polar, not the others I have tried. It is worth the extra cost.
