I am pretty hard on
I am pretty hard on my boots mostly because I wear them every day. These are perfect for me as someone who goes from job site to office and back and often must be in the field at a moment's notice actually working them hard. Break in has been minimum and I appreciate the simplicity of the construction. No inner liner to tear or cheap lining on the ankle to wear out. Simple, rebuildable boots. I hope to get a second pair next season so I can trade them off each day. I do rock superfeet inserts in them as I have high arches. Prefer these I've the similar price point in Red Wing. To get this same build quality in RW you have to add almost another $100. Also the made in USA aspect is awesome.
Nice boot but,...
I received my boots pretty quickly, so no complaints on the delivery. Boots are nice so far. Second day wearing them, and they are starting to soften up. They are comfortable. The problem is, that I spent $200 total on the boots, but I got shipped a pair that seemed like they were extras from the back room that had obviously been tried on, or returned. Creasing across the top suggested that they had been worn. The paper wrapping in the box was all torn and the box was a bit battered.Manufacture date on the box was September of 2019. I received these on Feb 22/2021. I guess for $200, I shouldn’t expect a nice fresh brand new pair??
There's been a revision to
There's been a revision to where the sole meets the leather upper. And instead of having a bevel on the top part of the soul it's now a 90° sharp edge. Which for one looks different, and in my opinion ugly. And for two I would wander if this interface where the leather meets the sole will now be susceptible to peeling away if it gets caught in rough conditions on something that slides up the side of the soul and separates the leather from the sole. I'm guessing it was an extra step to finish things off and they have discontinued at doing that. It appears.
Well...couple comments. They oak great
Well...couple comments. They oak great however I wore them one morning on a short walk to break in and ended up with 2 serious deep blisters one on each heel...which prohibited me from wearing for a couple weeks. Danner provided some boot dressing to help with break in. Still not there. I also have the Danner Bull run Chelsea and size fit and comfort are all very different. Bottom line I hope to love the new Moc toe but it will require more time to insure correct size fit and comfort.
I really wanted to love
I really wanted to love this boot, but I have a high instep and the way the tongue seam runs over the top of the foot where the eyelets begin caused it to rub the tops of my feet to the point where it was bruising and was quite painful. They also line the boot with a cloth and it ends at that seam on top of the foot. The excess material hangs down and makes the problem even worse. I wore them for a week thinking a break in would help. It didn't. Was too painful to wear.
I couldn't believe how cute
I couldn't believe how cute they look especially with the burgundy laces everyone that I showed my boots just looked them, you must down size on the boot they do run a bit big, I worn them on a ride an they are very comfortable, I would buy another pair different color.
This is my second pair
This is my second pair of these same Bull Run Moc Toe 6” black boots in a row. I work in a custom metal fabrication shop and in the field installing and I will rock these boots as long as I am in the trade and beyond. My last pair lasted me two years with daily wear 5-6 days a week. I have that original pair getting re-soled and re-stitched where hot weld sparks happened to land just right on the toe, burning a section of the original stitching. I will use the old pair as a back-up. Anyways, other than having a cobbler flatten the heel cap to instantly break in these boots, they are as comfortable as my sneakers: Highly recommend these boots.
Bought these boots to replace
Bought these boots to replace my worn out RedWing work boots, a style I have utilized for multiple cycles. Initially I ordered the wrong size. Replacement by Danner was great and quick. I went a 1/2 size up to accommodate my wider foot. So far, I am very happy with my new boots. Boots broke in quickly and are very comfortable for all day wear. I have a small issue with one of the tongues, but it’s more me being picky and having to take an extra few seconds to tuck it just right as I lace the boot. Probably more of an issue with the design of my foot vs the boot. The only thing I’m not super excited about is the white sole of the boot. It collects dirt/discolors like a cotton ball in a coal pile. I rated these a 4star at the moment, they will go to 5star if the leather and craftsman work holds up well through the next 12 months. At this point, I would recommend and I’d buy another pair tomorrow if I needed them. Well worth spending a few extra dollars for taking care of your feet! Photos are of the boots with around a months wear, 4-5 times a week.
Good craftsmanship they do need
Good craftsmanship they do need to be broke in for sure. Comfort level on a scale of 1-10 1 being low and 10 being high I would rate them a 6 or a low 7. You have to get the tongue just right and they definitely need to be worn with taller socks so they don’t rub. These are my 3rd pair of boots that have the danner logo on them. I mainly wear them on sundays to church although I have worn them shopping with the wife and kid and I was a little skeptical about walking all day in them but like I said in the beginning they definitely need to be broke in. I would say wearing them everyday for 8hrs it would take 2-3 weeks to get them feeling good.
Love them fit great in
Love them fit great in EEE wish all of there shoes had it but there was one thing. The tongue had a cut in it for the shoelaces to go through and there was no reinforced area for the laces through the tongue.
