The hikers I didn’t know I needed! Bought these at the last minute for my trip to Arizona and I am so thankful I did! We were lucky enough to win the lottery for The Wave 2 days before and although I was aware the hike was rated “Strenuous” I had originally planned to wear my running shoes. That would have ended up an epic fail. The hilly hike was truly treacherous - varying between uneven gravel, loose rocks, deep sand and these hikers were just what I needed to complete and survive the hike! I never would have made the hike without them!
I love, love these shoes. They are extremely comfortable and fit well. The soles are sturdy and there's no pinching.
Love these shoes. These have been my go to for years now. I did like 50 miles in the first week of use with my brand new pair with no break in needed. I do recommend additional inserts though for some cushion and arch support, but I have custom orthotics so maybe it’s just me.
Best overall hiking shoes I have ever purchased. Perfect fit, excellent materials and workmanship.
I bought my Moab 2 ventilators last fall but didn't use them until a trip to Sedona. Didn't even break them in before hitting the trails. We hiked moderate trails but one hard trail, Bear Mountain. Forty-three miles hiked in 5 days over rocky terrain and OMG these shoes are freakin' awesome. Great traction. Not one blister like in the past. The next day after the hard hike at Bear Mountain, my feet felt great. Love the wide toe box. I did go 1/2 size up and good wool blend hiking socks. Didn't get as much red dust in them as my old Merrell hiking shoes. Got these at a great price last fall. Well worth the money. I highly recommend!
That's what we love to hear! Thanks for your great feedback and recommendation!
The fit is great and the molded to my feet very quickly. I hiked 15 miles a day for 2 days at Yosemite in my brand new shoes. No blisters, no discomfort from the shoes, and I got many compliments about the color. These shoes handled every terrain well, from climbing up an icy mountain to walking the base of a waterfall. 10/10 recommend these!!
My husband and I scheduled a trip to Alaska. Both of us love to hike! I ordered these shoes but did not have a chance to even consider breaking them in! we were able to schedule numerous hikes and I could not have been happier with these hiking shoes! I have a bunion on my right foot and in my regular walking shoes I sometimes have issues! The Moab 2 shoes were amazing! They were so supportive and we went on some steep rocky areas and the traction from them was amazing!
Comfortable and supportive hiking shoes. They feel sturdy and are a replacement of my last Merrells that I've been wearing for 5+ years but got holes and decided it was time to upgrade. Unfortunately I don't know what model those were but they were size 8 and I had to get 8.5 in these. Happy with my purchase!
Thank you for coming back to Merrell for another pair. We love our Merrell fans!
This is my second pair. I hiked over 50 miles in Arizona last spring in them. So I just bought another pair so I'd have the same kind when my first pair wears out. Just hiked 4 miles in muddy, hilly trail on Kauai, elevation gain of 1500'. Really great hikers!
Buying hiking shoes is always a nightmare for me. When I do find a pair I like, they’re always discontinued. These were the best I could find, and I still got terrible hot spots and blisters on the insides of my heels and the balls of my feet. To combat this, I have to lace them so tightly the laces fray and sometimes the nerve on top of my foot is unhappy. i eventually found a lacing pattern that worked, but I miss my Salomons. These are my backup/trash hikers while I save my Salomons for the Grand Canyon. But they have lasted a long time! I’ve had them for a year and worn them in so much mud and they’re still hanging on, so props for that.
We appreciate your feedback!
