Love this jacket

Got a chance to test this jacket out in some pretty serious rain today. It did it’s job and more. Was cool yet protective. Didn’t stick to my skin like some of the lesser quality (and even some of the higher quality) jackets do once they get wet. Needed a good light weight rain jacket for my upcoming thru hike of the pacific crest trail. I do believe this jacket will do the trick. Feels well made and my xxl weighs in at just 7.5oz and packs neatly down into its on interior pocket/stuff sack. Definatly recomend this jacket.

Lightweight and Waterproof

Awesome product, I brought this jacket to a 100 mile trekking competition through Los Andes mountains in Patagonia, and in one of the peaks I was impacted by a storm for 6 hours straight, I thought that the jacket was going to fail and I was going to get wet however to my surprise the jacket worked up flawlessly. It felt cold but i have no complain though.

Running in the rain

Took this jacket on a drizzly 14 mile trail run in the Chuckanuts and it performed great! It wasn't a downpour, so I didn't get to test it in that way, but unlike other rain jackets I've run in, (and windbreakers) it didn't swamp me up with sweat. It's surprisingly breathable. I'm super impressed with this jacket and looking forward to testing it in some more harsh conditions. It also packs down pretty small, which is a bonus! Another note: I'm 5'6", and own the small. It's slightly big on me, in the arms and torso, but this will be good for layering and I will be able to put this jacket on over a hydration vest for longer runs. This is not a slim-fit/athletic-fit jacket.

Super Light Weight and Packable

Love this as a rain repellent. Packs up into the palm of your hand. Can shove it in any corner of a pack. Super light weight. Will not keep you warm, but will keep you dry on a warm days hike. Good windbreaker as well.

Lightweight Letdown

I took this jacket hiking with me a few times, I'm glad it never rained on me or I would have been in trouble. I took this on a short hike while in Norway. It began to rain so I put it in. I felt that for about 15 minutes in a LIGHT rain, it did decent. After about 30 minutes and a medium rain, the jacket had become fully saturated and after about 45 minutes, soaked me through to my base-layer. Cold temps rolled in and, while disappointed, I became concerned for my safety. I sprinted to the bottom of the mountain with arms numb, and a completely soaked torso. I had my hood up, and fully zipped the whole whole time. There was also a soapy film that was produced on the jacket after a while, is it actually waterproof or is there just a waterproof spray on the jacket? I have never washed it, and has only seen a few rains. Let down by Outdoor Research who usually makes good gear. Two stars since it dried quite fast once it was off. In the photo below I unzipped the jacket to show how much it soaked through, you can see the soapy residue by the lower left breast. Would NOT recommend unless using to protect from a water bottle spill.

Light as a feather

Super lightweight, very breathable, great for layering. Sizing seems to run slightly on the smaller size, probably should have ordered the XXL for our son. Another quality product fron O.R. Also this jacket packs up very small.
