The Perfect Snowboard.

After being snowboard tester for outlets like Transworld and Backcountry Mag, I found the Backwoods and it blew my mind. It has been my daily driver for the past three seasons, and I’ve ridden every where from the tight trees of Northern Vermont, to the Fjords of Iceland, to the Crested Butte Backcountry. It’s rare to find a board that truly does everything well, but this board thrives in all conditions. It’s big rockered nose and tapered directional shape make this board surfy and fun in pow, while the camber between the feet and carbon stringers throughout mean this board is just as comfortable in steeps, variable conditions, and laying trenches on groomers as it is on deep days. What™’s more is Weston has a reputation for building bombproof boards that can take a beating. Being on the east coast, I tend to be hard on my boards, hitting off rocks, and other snow sharks regularly. Other companies boards I have chewed up and spit out broken in less than a season, not the backwoods, still going strong after three seasons of abuse. On closing, I’™ve recommended this board to a ton of my friends, and the response is always the same. “That board is incredible.” Pro-tip: size-up for a more aggressive ride, size down for a more playful and slashy ride.

This board got me back into snowboarding

I grew up snowboarding but have switched over to skiing recently, largely because I generally think skis do better in the backcountry. This board changed everything for me! I was blown away demoing it and was instantly sold on it. Obviously, it excels in powder, but performs well in almost every condition. Nimble in the trees and stable at speed - it blows through everything. I've been using it as my resort board too because it performs so well. I forgot how much fun boarding was but I'm glad to be back. For reference I'm 6' 170 lb and have been enjoying the 163cm. Tried the 160 briefly, but felt a bit small

pow surfer tree slayer

Fun board! Having a split that is fun to ride at the resorts is hard to find, and THIS IS IT. Carves turns at the resort and has a surf feel in the tight trees with the tapered tail. Camber provides great pop and early ride nose and tail makes it quick edge to edge. The large nose continues to save me in low light compressions or a miss judged landing.

Favorite Splitboard Ever

After splitboarding for the last nine winters i've ridden Jones, Gnu, and Lib Tech splits. By far my favorite one is the Backwoods. I've been riding the 157 this winter and its killed deep pow, steep chutes and everything in between. This board is really an excellent all around board, not just a powder board. It rides big with its large nose, but still manages to be nimble and go edge to edge super quick in the trees. I'd 100% recommend this board.

Backwoods is that good

The Backwoods Split is carvy, surfy, snappy and strong all at the same time. Set back, tapered with the big scooped nose makes it float effortlessly. It moves quickly off the back foot in tight stuff and when allowed to run it is stable and strong at charging speed.

Agile, graceful, fun.

The board is phenomenal. I danced through tight trees with, dare I say, ethereal grace. Had I been on my Rome solid deck I would have probably ended the day early with a concussion or a cracked rib, but on this thing I could thread the needle on many a small gap or tree-tunnel. Held its own on high speed carves & straight-lining through chunder too (though somewhat less stable than my beastly wide Rome). Highly recommend this splitboard to any who are in the market. I'm considering buying a solid version of the same shape next year to be my go-to resort deck. About me: I'm 5'11", ~175lbs, size 11 boot, advanced rider. I bought the 160 and love it, but could certainly see the appeal of a 163 if you're routinely in waist deep pow and/or primarily send lines at Mach 10. The 160, however, affords me the agility I was looking for and still keeps me on-top of deep pow.

Phenomenal Ride

The Weston Backwoods is an incredible splitboard. Having used it for numerous different types of outings, it performs far better than I could have dreamed. It is incredible smooth and playful in deep powder and can hold its own in hard-packed / variable terrain. Weston as a company is on a different level in terms of design, quality of their products and customer service.
