Very nice hiking boots.
First time getting Teva hiking boots. I have teva floops which I love because of their comfortable foot pads. Got this on sale so the price I paid was very good. I've tried other hiking boots such as Vasque and Keen but I tear them up after about 2 to 3 years of use. Well I got to tell you, I was very impressed with Teva. Pros: Very reasonable price, best looking hiking boots (lots of complaments from my BS troops asking what kind they were), waterproof works went camping in the rain for two days with no problem with water in the boots, all leather, and best of all insoles are super comfortable Teva type rubber with Vibram outsoles. Over all really comfortable to wear right out of the box. No break in required. Cons: Breathability since it's all leather (Winter ok, but summer might be too hot), leather will stretch over time, front toe rubber bumper is too light (not meant to be used in HD rocky terrain ( I think Vasque and Keen got it right), last I think the front toe rubber bumper goes back too far. Meaning right where your foot bends from hiking long trails, the area on top of the foot where it crease will over time undo the glued that hold the rubber and the leather in time will weaken causing a hole were water can penetrate causing it to leak. That's were I see the design flaw in this one. Over all this is one good looking boots to wear in the wood or in the city for comfort and value. Would I buy another? Yes, for the sale price but for regular price no, because I don't think this will last me too long under HD camping use. I think this is really made for those looking for nice boots to wear to work when it rains and for light camping use.
Great Quality
I was looking for a boot that fit several roles from hiking to general winter snow boot walking around town, etc. This boot fits the profile. It's much nicer in person than on line. The quality seems top notch and the colors are very rich. While I haven't used this in the snow yet, the boot is very comfortable and fairly light weight. I'm sure there are boots out there that are lighter but this one seems fine for my use. Overall a really nice looking boot with excellent materials.
Nice shoe
I liked this shoe but found the toe-box to be restricted. They also run about 1/2 to 1 size small.
like the side zipper
great boots, well made. appreciate the zipper on the side that makes the boot easier to get on and off.
Comfortable, Great Fit
I bought a pair of these while on this great sale. I have the low quarter Teva Riva in a size 12 and I love the fit. I found the fit of these to be just as comfortable. They may be a bit less roomy in the toe so if you are pushing 12.5, probably should buy up. They are immediately comfortable. I haven't worn them much; however, I thought a specific 'fit' comment would be useful while these are on sale. Appears the 'Tall' version of these is being phased out by Teva.
Arrow old Utility Tall Hiking Boots
Seriously poor quality control. First time out of the box for test fit, the top shoelace clip came out of the left boot, rendering the pair useless. Someone at the factory forgot to add the retainer washer to the blind rivet inside the boot.
Good looks & brand doesn't look like a hiking boot
Excellent brand, quality, and materials. Does not look like a hiking boot (that is why we choose them). Been wearing them everyday walking along the beach. Comfortable, look very good, easy to clean soles that don't collect stuff (this is important). Wore them out of the box, short to no break in time required. Can wear them everyday if one wants, look casual dressy for a boot.
