I speed walk/run almost daily and found these to be perfect for rough terrain and hilly dirt/gravel roads, especially after a rain. Have received many compliments on these - and I actually love the black/grey color combo with white patterned reflective heel; helps with visibility while out walking near sunset. I purchased them for winter trekking on icy snowy roads and looking forward to seeing how they measure up. They are well made and the quality is similar to my Brooks Cascadia shoes (Saucony and Brooks are my go to brands for running shoes). I wear a Women's Size 8 and found them true to size. Plus the sale price makes these a bargain.
Bought these for running in Michigan winter and I love them! I’ve done mixed road/dirt road runs as well as trail and they’ve gone from dry pavement to ice to slush to inches of snow without any trouble. In the past I’ve carried slip on traction aids but it is a hassle to put them on then take them off as conditions go back and forth between good to bad and back. They are also warmer and drier than my normal running shoes without making my feet sweat or holding in too much moisture. The only thing to watch for is size, they are SMALL! I’m normally a 8.5 and bought these in a 9.5 and they fit great. Also purchased a pair online for my daughter who is in a kids size 3, sometimes 4. Figured the women’s 5 would give her room to grow or be good for later this year and they are a perfect fit now.
Happy with this purchase. I only wish I had bought it a half size bigger, it’s a bit snug. Otherwise, it’s pretty amazing how well this shoe does on snow and ice! I do feel like I run a tad bit slower on regular pavement because it really grips (imagine the feeling of running on pavement with snow boots). I suspect that this shoe will do great on trails. I love winter running and am pleased that I don’t have to use grips on my “regular” running sneakers again.
The Peregrine 8 ICE+ shoe makes it fun, not stressful, to run over snow and ice. The toe box seems slightly more stiff and narrower than my other Saucony shoes, but the water-resistant upper kept my feet dry and warm even with thin socks. Also, I was able to stretch/soften the forefoot a bit and they feel OK now. This shoe costs much more than I like to spend on running shoes, but it's well worth the investment for good traction and stability in winter.
Got these shoes specifically for running on icy country roads (while pushing my newborn in a stroller) and they are awesome! I feel comfortable and sure-footed on my daily jog. Aggressive lugs and soft sole seem to grip the road as if it were dry! They did fit small, had to send back first pair and order 1/2 size bigger but was a great experience!! I would highly recommend this shoe for winter running. Excellent customer service.
Wore this shoe all winter last season, in deep snow, freezing rain and stepped in several puddles. Not one soaker! This is a great winter boot. I had swollen ankles most of the winter and have been treated for that. I couldn't get on regular boots, over the swelling, these sneakers work just as well as boots and are far more comfortable. Took the stress out of winter!
I live in Minnesota, and so I need a good winter running shoe, and this is it! With wool socks, my feet stay warm, dry and comfortable at below zero temps. The “8” version of the shoe is a little longer than the prior version which makes it a perfect shoe for me. Because ice can be a factor, I do have an extra pair with ice spikes. I love these shoes!
Consistent great Saucony quality - I have been buying Saucony since about 1984 and own many pairs! - but this shoe has a toe box that is more narrow than previous styles. Wish I had purchased a half size bigger, which would be a full size bigger than my usual shoes in other brands. Perhaps the wide width would have worked.
It was very disappointing to pay such an exorbitant amount of money for shoes that are less well made and poorer quality than my previous Saucony shoes. I won't be recommending these to any of the nurses and doctors that I work with any more.
The color is awful, but for 75 bucks I’ll take it. They are true to size and comfortable enough. Saucony just isn’t what it use to be, unfortunately. Wish they had bigger lugs (or any lugs at all) and miss the rock plate.
