First balaclava I've owned and I love it
This is lightweight enough to fit comfortably under your helmet and warm enough that I was fine at -2 at the summit. It covers everything not covered by your goggles, and if you want to you just pull the facemask down. The facemask has a layer of fleece so is warmer but it doesn't fog up your goggles and it's easy to breathe. The neck is long enough to tuck into your coat or fleece, the design is very well thought out.
Great protection, adjustability
Love this facemask! It is thin enough to wear under my ski helmet without any issue. I love the fact that I can pull up the mask to my chin just to keep my neck warm, up to my nose, or all the way up over my nose and under my goggles when it's really cold. I haven't tested it below 20 to really see how long it can go or in dumping snow to test if gets too codl and wet for my liking. My other mask is windproof/waterproof and tested easily to below 0. I love that this mask is lightweight so on warmer days I am not too hot. Washes easily and dried overnight to remove any funky smells. My husband and my brother also own this mask, which tells you just how great it is!

I just purchased my third "The Hood Balaclava," and have been using them for a few years. I live in Minnesota and run outdoors year round. Whenever it's about 25 degrees Fahrenheit or colder, I like to throw on this balaclava and a hat. Sometimes I add other pieces like a neck gaiter, but the balaclava is the essential piece of the puzzle. I have run outdoors in temperatures as low as -15, and while yes, it's certainly still cold even geared up, the balaclava really helps keep the important parts safe from frostbite! The hinged facemask portion of the balaclava is great, because I can flip it up and down depending on how I feel at the moment. One of the pictures I have posted, you can actually barely see the balaclava, but you can see the conditions that I was wearing it in, and I'm still smiling which means something good is happening! Like I said, this was my third purchase. I like the fun patterns. This year I finally ordered early enough to get a super ridiculous donut pattern before it sold out. Anyways, I can't say enough good things about this balaclava.
Great mask for winter shred!
First of this was a very comfortable balaclava. It felt good against the skin. I wore mine under a helmet and it didn't really interfere vwith the fit. I did have to loosen the tightening knob at its loosest to get it on and then tighten it back down. I typically run warm, but I was able to wear this comfortably up to temps in the mid-30s. Warmer than that and I would just pull the hood down and keep the mask up. The versatility was nice. I also used this for splitboarding underneath a hat. We had temps down around 12°f and the combination kept me comfortable for the climb up. It kept the cold wind off of my skin and I was able to keep my temperature regulated. Even as mask requirements ease up, I will continue to wear this in future winters.
Best balaclava out there!
I was hesitant to order these because I hadn’t talked to anyone who had used them, but once we were out on the slopes, I saw them everywhere and now I know why! The material is the fastest drying I’ve tried, and actually keeps you warm when it’s cold and surprising keeps you cool when it warms up! I also like that there is some slack in the face covering portion. You don’t feel suffocated. I’ll continue to buy these for my whole family. Even my 5 year old loved them!
Amazing product
I got my first black strap balaclava a couple years ago for snowboarding and loved it immediately. Recently I started working in construction and LET ME TELL YOU, this is the most essential piece of PPE. The quality of the material you use is perfect for wearing all day and keep you cool if you get them wet (warm in cold environments too). I’m not sure if they’re any good as “covid-19 protection” but it’s for sure useful for blocking dirt from getting in your lungs and keeping the sun off you. Basically I love my blackstrap masks and plan on getting more soon. Thanks for making them!

Bought this for my son, he wore it while opening the rest of his gifts! It also kept him warm on the slopes, but he could lower the face part when he hot too warm. “Mom this is so versatile!”
