Run Huge, Lightweight
I put 3 stars but haven’t actually used these yet. I can’t comment on their water repellency. They might be good as an outer layer, but you will definitely need some good longjohns or running tights underneath. The legs are fine—not too tight or loose, but the belly is very large. I wear a 16 pant, and I have a large waist, proportionately, but the XL is too big, even if I put longjohns beneath them. I generally don’t wear pants under the softshell pant layer. I think they would be too snug in the leg for anything but tights, and tights won’t come close to filling the waistline and belly. I’ll be looking for something heavier and better fitting for winter.
These pants make living in snow country worth it!
These pants are bigger than a regular pair of pants. I am so delighted, as it allows me to put them on over jeans, leggings, or my yoga pants. I can walk in them. I can wear them to and from events (easily removable once I get to where I am going). They are perfect for my needs. I do not use them for cycling. I use them as an outside layer during the winter. Love them. And, even though, they say they are not waterproof, they are perfect for shoveling snow. So water repellent! I am very happy with them.
For more than cycling!
I actually bought these for use when I volunteer at a dog shelter. They aren't quite the "hair attractants" that typical knit pants are. They also offer some level of water and wind resistance which makes them perfect for working with the dogs. They are very comfortable, but a bit on the long side for me. The legs taper nicely so that the longer legs don't drag on the ground, however. I purchased the small, I'm 5'3" and 135 lbs. There is a lot of room around the waist (normally for wearing cycling shorts) which comes in handy for mobility and the fabric is quite flexible. I'd say these could work for much more than cycling!
Perfect for layering while fat biking
I know some reviews have said these pants are big, and they're not wrong - but they're *perfect* for layering over tights while fat biking. I'm. 6' tall and usually wear a large, so I ordered a large. They are very roomy and long, with a fleece lined interior , softshell.outer fabric, drawstring, zippers at the ankles and stretchy fabric behind the knees. I looked all over for winter riding pants - not tights - for women, and they are really hard to find! I love them, they're perfect for me.
Pants run large, not tight enough
I bought size small, but these are gigantic! They are also too baggy for biking and should fit more snuggly at the ankles. I'm returning them instead of getting a smaller size.
Great comfy cycling pants
They run big. But you can put them over other clothes for commuting. The jersey panels are great for ventilation.
Great winter layer for cold and snowy cycling
Great layer for winter cycling in Chicago. It hasn't snowed much this year but these pants have withstood cold and wet weather while still remaining breathable. I was skeptical about getting these because of the poor reviews but I realize now those reviews were based on sizing. Pants run large so get a size down.
way too big
I ordered the same size L that I bought last year, but this pair was much baggier and much longer, so I am sending them back. Too bad because I like my other pair.
Great for biking and hiking
Love these! Only one pocket but big enough. Super comfortable and fit great.
