Bike hauler

I love this bike. Its not fast. Its a hauler and a good one. I put a large bucket on the back, which I take my dog to the dog park and pick up groceries. I'v had it about a year with no problems.

great for city commuting around NYC

I was gifted this bike about a year ago for my birthday and it has made NY city commuting with my two kiddos in tow a breeze. I LOVE my bike, Its very sturdy and I feel really safe riding around with my precious cargo. My only complaint is that it is really heavy so lifting it is not an option for me, but I understand it has to be in order to carry so much weight.

A fun, practical family bike!

About a month into ownership, my wife and I cannot say enough good things about our Yuba Sweet Curry. We paired it with a Yepp kid’s seat and our one year old loves it; no kidding, probably a 75% reduction in fussiness going from the trailer to the Curry. He’ll even doze off on a ride. It easily carries a cooler, camp chairs and kiddo for a day out. Carrying groceries and a toddler is no problem either. The fit is good for both my wife (5’6”) and I (5’11”). Big tubes and well braced frame give it a solid feel. Stock seat doesn’t look overly comfy, but surprised both of us with how we can ride hours without sore tailbones. The gearing matches the smaller rear wheel nicely, whether you are climbing even steep hills or descending with a load. Brakes are mechanical disc brakes, so less stopping power than hydraulics (though less maintenance hassle), but quite adequate for what we do. If you are running smaller gears on both sides of the chain, the extra long chain slacks and may drag across the frame. However, this is an unusual gearing configuration and rarely happens. The smaller rear wheel lowers the center of gravity for your cargo/kids for a riding feel that is stable and manageable. My wife did not like the bigger frame of the Mundo but loves the feel of the Curry. The only difference is to mind the increased length and be careful while walking/mounting the bike with cargo (you don’t realize how much you lean a bike while walking by it). This brings us to the only “gotta have” accessory- a double kickstand. The beefy stock kickstand is right on the limit of stability for a toddler in a seat; the double stand allows easy loading and unloading as well as storage. Overall, very happy with the bike! Yuba has a very nice product here!

Disappointed

I had been looking forward to getting this cargo bike for months. The first day I was able to take the kid's on a short ride to the park. They loved riding on the back and even with them moving the bike felt stable. On the second day I had an opportunity for long early morning ride. The bike felt great, easy to turn, nice gearing. However, two blocks from my house the rear derailleur hanger snaps during breaking. Not sure if this was a defective part or an assembly issue. I know there is the potential that the derailleur could have been knocked and bent but I am certain nothing like that occurred prior to or during this 40 minute ride before the hanger snapped. I am concerned that the bike is a bit too delicate to put my kid's on the back. I think I would have given the bike a second change but getting the bike fixed has been difficult. Communication with Yuba is slow and parts are not available. I also feel uncomfortable about paying to repair a bike after two days ownership.

Commuting is a breeze now!

This bike is the prefect setup for my daughter and I. The front bread basket fits our backpacks and the bamboo running boards make it easy for my five year old to get on and off the bike by herself. When she is on and ready to ride, she rings her bell! The gears make it easy to get around town! This was a great investment and should last for many years to come! I would highly recommend it to anyone!
