Xray version makes finding your stuff easy!

I ordered this bag as its perfect for trips overseas or weekend get aways with it thrown in the back of the truck and exposed to elements. I got the xray color so I could find my packed times quicker. I can just look at the outside and know exactly where I packed my compass, sunglasses or caribiners. I used to struggle with caverness bags and losing small items but no longer. I can also skip the TSA security as they can see what I packed. I highly recommend this bag to any frequent traveler. It's a kick butt water proof/resistant duffle that hold a ton of gear with flexible options to carry from back pack to duffle straps. The xray color is unique and easy to find in a pile of other bags.

"What the What?"

This was featured in a movie, with the main character of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, prominently carrying a bag of this version, and yet the company thought it was a good idea to change it up? What are they thinking?

These bags are everywhere... for good reason!

I've been an athlete with The North Face for years now and this product is likely the one I've used the most frequently with great results. Expeditionary use is where this duffel shines, but it's also useful for weekend excursions traveling to the trailhead or mountainside by ground or air travel. Whether your gear is going on a plane, bus, tractor, truck or on the back of a porter or yak, it will always be protected by the durable and sturdy contours of this superb duffel bag. The only downside is that now that they have become more popular, you'll often mistake someone else's duffel for your own on the baggage carousel! Good to mark the handle with colored duct tape or a baggage ID tag for easy identification.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a travel surgical technologist. I use this awesome duffel bag to pack my entire wardrobe, so I can conveniently travel from state to state. This bag is so durable and heavy duty, you will not regret it.

Good but needs better straps for a bag this size.

I live in Ohio but frequently travel to Arizona and Utah to camp and river raft with friends. So I fly all my gear (tents, sleeping pads, sleeping bag, clothes, backpack, etc. ) as my checked luggage. I have made many trips using packing cubes and compression bags in a 100L duffel, but it is tough! So I bought this one, and the size is fantastic—it fits everything I needed. In fact, I only carried a small cross-body bag for the plane! It was just under 50 pounds when this thing was fully loaded. But here is the problem and why I knocked off 1 star and thought about knocking off 2. When fully loaded, the backpack straps are way too thin and cheap for any level of comfortable carrying. I am 5'7", and the bag is long and hits down on your butt, making it bounce when you walk. At 50 pounds, the bag's weight pulls on the straps so much that they were almost folding in half and cutting into my shoulders. I have to lean forward and put my arms back and try to hold the bag from the bottom to relieve some of the weight. It was terrible to try to walk with, and with the bulk and the size, I would expect a bit more for the 150L size. I realize this is not a backpack, but for me, the straps needed to be functional for a bag this size. It holds all I need, but It has made me reconsider when I might use this bag, which is a shame because I bought it for hauling gear when I travel.

Great product. Only one suggestion for improvement

I love this bag and think it is a very well constructed quality product. I use this to store and haul about all my mountain rescue gear and used the xxl version of this bag as my sled duffle on Denali. I have one suggestion for improvement. The shoulder straps (backpack straps) need to have a buckle to release the straps (like the Patagonia duffles have), otherwise the backpack straps tend it get in the way and you have to constantly re-adjust the fit when then close the bag and out it back on your back. Overall.. fantastic product and well worth the cost.
