Extended Surfing Season
Bought this in addition to a 3/2 suit I have, so that I could extend my surfing season. I only got to try it once before I had to go overseas, and now the water has warmed up, so I can't comment on how it will hold up with multiple uses, but I'm counting on the O'Neill name for quality. I was very pleased the first time I used it in about 55-57 degree water. It was easy to get into and out of, and it kept me toasty for my entire two hour session in the water. I'm 6'2" and 175 lbs. and the Extra Large size fit well; however, I'd be concerned if you are bigger because REI doesn't offer an XXL. My only complaint is that the velcro is so sticky (normally a good thing) that the" Super Seal Collar" tab on the back kept getting stuck in the wrong position, interfering with the zipper, when it is supposed to attach above that across the neck.
Holds Up Well - Size Runs Small
I use this wetsuit regularly for aquarium working dives, scrubbing rocks, cleaning acrylic windows, feeding fish & rays, etc. After almost a year it shows very little signs of wear. Reasonably warm for a 3/4 mm suit. Be aware it runs small. I wear a large Henderson 3mm suit comfortably but this suit in an XL is a bit snug. BTW, Why doesn’t REI offer it in XXL?
Warmer than expected
This suit does very well in fifty six degree water! Almost too warm.
