What an unpleasant experience
I ordered these pairs and waited for over a week for my order to arrive and I was so excited to try them out. They arrived in a destroyed box and the plastic bag was torn and I was fine with the poor packaging. THE BIG SURPRISE: they were extremely used. So upsetting! I wish I gave these a 5-star because they're good quality. It's more of a service quality rating rather than an item review.
Love these clogs
I got the iron color with the hard leather. I love how comfortable they are (I only wear them with socks), but I have 4 of the 2 strap sandals and I wear them barefoot or with socks so I imagine they are comfortable either way. I also wear the same size in the sandals and the clogs. It took about a week of wear for them to be the most comfortable, but they were decent out of the box. The only thing that is a little negative. The color is much lighter than the picture online. I also think they look good with jeans.
Must have fall/winter
These shoes fit true to size and are comfortable. Can’t wait until wear these this fall. Though, I have a feeling they will be at the door awaiting for me to slip in and run.
Poor construction. Sole delamination after 13 mo.
After 13 months of normal use the sole has delaminated from the leather upper. The quality of these shoes are much lower than expected.
Give them a few weeks to break in!
I am very happy with this purchase, but I wasn't so sure at first. When they arrived, they fit my foot, but it was a tight squeeze and the leather was stiff. My feet hurt a bit and I was worried they weren't the right clogs for me. I wore them with socks for the first 2-3 weeks to help with the pain and give them a bit of a stretch. Now they fit like a dream and the leather has softened up on the inside while remaining sturdy on the outside. Highly recommend these shoes! These clogs are fairly heavy and loud. If you live in an upstairs apartment and want to wear these inside, your neighbors will hear you.
Worth the money.
Very good sandals. Soft on feet and the leather looks great. Used the size pattern from Berk’s website to get the exact size. Will buy again and yes from REI
Not So Soft
The “new” soft footbed Birks are not very soft compared to the ones I bought about a dozen years ago. Here is a picture side by side, although you will not be able to determine softness from a photo. The footbed is taller, thicker than previous designs. I can still push down on the footbed of my older shoes and the cushion is about a quarter of an inch. The new version has almost no give, maybe a millimeter or two. They still fit well and will conform to my feet but the cushioning is virtually nonexistent and barely more than another pair I have without the “soft footbed”
all year footwear
Iv had these for a year now and so far I love them. I wear them everyday. Great with or without socks and you don’t get those weird socks with sandals looks from people if you do choose to sport some socks. They do a great job of keeping your feet warm and dry in the rain and cool enough in the spring summer. Perfect footwear for air travel as you can slip them off easily and not look like a weirdo with open toe sandals. Fit is a little different than with the Arizona sandal as I went up a full size and the leather in the toe box and the top of the foot will stretch a bit. At first I adjusted for when I wore socks but now they are perfect with or without them with no adjustment. Perfect for travel if your not sure if you should bring shoes or Sandals these guys do it all.
Better than Crocs
I wear these everywhere. Convenience of Crocs without looking like you’ve given up. Sometimes wearing these helps me escape into a fantasy that I live in Europe instead of the black hole of intelligent thought this country has become. I love my clogs
