Initial review
I am very particular when it comes to boots. I like them to last a long time and suit my needs. I don’t often buy them. I took a chance cause they looked good and were on sale. I needed a versatile winter waterproof boot that would look good in the city for traveling such as London but also be able to work in lighter backcountry and possible everyday wear on humanitarian missions. My first impression is that they are very well made. They look good. Color is slightly darker than the picture wearing them around the house now and they are warm and comfortable, can’t feel any areas where they might cause blisters. Taking them on a month long trip to the UK and Egypt and will repost after.
Soles started to separate from shoes...
I really liked these boots and have had them for a few months. I’ve received some compliments on them too! They seemed sturdy and well made, however I noticed the material on the boot often pills or pulls and I’ve been cleaning it up with a pair of scissors. It rained recently and I’d been going in and out of the house with these on when I noticed that the sole is coming off of the shoe at the tip of each boot. I am so disappointed about this. I plan to return these and try another pair to see if the same thing happens again. These are supposed to be waterproof and have the same tread as Kodiak hiking boots so this was very unexpected.
Cute but not quality
I initially loved these. I did have to go up a half size. They are thinly lined, so not meant for very cold temps, but the zippers make it easy for on and off. I had them a little over a month when I noticed the toes on both boots were lifting, and the sole even separating on one as well. I really liked them for running around the farm and as a light weight outdoor boot, but returned them due to the poor craftsmanship. I considered fixing them, but knew it would happen again because they are glued and not sewn entirely. Bummer! I wouldn't buy them again unfortunately, especially after reading others' reviews with the same problem
I love these boots!!
Super cute boots. Comfortable for walking a couple miles. Start to rub on my little toe after that. Not sure they would be great for a long hike.
Great boots!
Love these boots! They took a little while to break in, but they are comfortable now. Worth every penny.
My favorite boot
This stiff, leather boot takes a break-in commitment, but after that it fits like a glove. I love the ability to adjust the laces and then zip. The boot feels very supportive - I have done several long walks in town and some light hiking, and have been very happy. As far as weatherproofing goes, I have no complaints: the boot does well in snow, slush, and heavy rain. It has pretty good traction on slick surfaces. Do be aware that, if you are wearing socks or tights that extend above the top of the boot they can wick water in and your feet can get wet that way. That happened to me once in a downpour, but an hour or so of wearing them with the zippers undone and they were dry inside again. This boot can handle light-medium socks/tights. Thick socks are a no-go in my regular size, and I'm not sure the arch, etc., would fit right if I sized up. I highly recommend this boot, especially at sale price. The fabric portion pills a little, but overall it seems well made, and I expect it to last a long time. It has a classy old-school rustic kind of look that works with skirts and leggings and also looks nice under long pants in a high end work boot kind of way (ala Doc Martens).
Comfortable boots
Great boots. I would recommend them for everyday wear
