I bought these as a winter running shoe. They are much warmer than all of my other shoes. Would buy again just for that. I've run on the trail and road with them. Trail is great. As an "ice" shoe, I don't think there's much protection. I've slipped with them on. They gripped the ice nicely on my first run. After that, not so much.
They feel light yet have tons of padding and support around the ankle and top of the toes so I'm not sliding around. The thick and grippy rubber let me run anywhere. I'm really happy with these shoes. They make me want to go out and run right now!
I’m not a runner, but these shoes have kept me from falling/slipping many times. I can be with other people who are sliding, and I’m the only one not sliding. I got these after a fall on the ice. They are also the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn!
They have an attached tongue which I would normally stay away from with my high arch but these are not too tight. Overall fit and traction makes me feel like I could run a glacier with no problem.
So far they are great and have nice traction. Time will tell.
