Not an “All-Around” Glove, Just “Mostly-Around”
I bought these last season, excited to use them again. I understand the frustration many others have with these gloves’ durability, but given it’s a liner glove it’s obvious these are best just for wearing them on your commute and activities like running. The touch pad finger tip thing is actually something I would prefer it didn’t have, as it’s a gimmick all modern gloves have now. (I don’t mind taking my glove off if i really need to use my phone!) If you look past this, this is my favorite pair of gloves to throw on and wear for commutes/runs. It being a liner means better dexterity than bulky gloves, and the fabric texture is fantastic and soft. Don’t expect it to keep your fingers toasty on it’s own if you are out for many hours, or in high winds, but they are a quick and comfortable solution.
Very comfortable and elegant
I bought these as a liner under my regular gloves and as something to wear by themselves while driving. Fit is good: I have smallish hands, size 8.25" right between small and medium, and the small Rhos fit me perfectly due to the stretchiness of the fabric. Absolutely no gaps in the fingertips. They have virtually no wind resistance though so wearing them by themselves outside in even a light breeze will feel like you're not wearing gloves at all. The etips work well. Since the fabric is so thin I don't expect these gloves to handle much beyond driving and maybe carrying a cup of coffee across a parking lot. Forget about anything like mounting a ski rack with just these on.
nice on skin
I don't know why people are complaining about the warmth of these gloves because it says right on the package that they are on the low side as far as warmth goes. These gloves were not meant to be really warm, they are meant to be a liner and they feel really nice against the skin. I wrote this review with the gloves on, and the pads on the fingers work as good as to be expected. I have an Android phone.
Not worth the money
I got these gloves just before XMas. Not what I was expecting. These are too thin and really not doing much. It’s been only a few months and with very minimal use, I’ve noticed that touch-screen pads started to separate. Very poor quality. I definitely won’t recommend. Go for the next level up.

Perfectly serving their purpose
Yes, they are very thin. Yes, I doubt that they can withstand any semblance of roughhousing. But-- to be that nearly perfect liner between the heating elements of my Hotronic mittens and my skin? Yes-- these are perfect. If you are like me and want that heat but not the effects of bare knuckles against the stiff inside of those elemented-gloves/mittens, then get a pair of these liners in 1 size smaller than you normally buy gloves and the fit will be ideal for the conduction of the heat from the mitten to your hand.
The Lightweight, All-Around Glove Liner
I was looking for a lightweight glove that I could use by itself or as a liner glove to wear under my Alpha SV Mittens. This is it. The lightweight, all-around glove I was looking for! Has that next-to-skin comfort fit and feels like you really aren’t wearing gloves at all. On the approach in an alpine environment, this synthetic glove provides enough warmth by itself and/or during brief, high-output activities. It’s also great a wicking away moisture and works great as a liner glove under my Alpha SV mittens. I’ve had mine for two seasons now and have used them at Rainier, Elbrus, and Kilimanjaro. They’ve held up well after repeated use and washing.
Are Sensor Pads useless? Size guide inaccurate?
I tried typing this review on my iPhone 12 Pro while wearing the Rho gloves but it was impossible! I suspect it’s because of the screen protector I have on the phone? I tested the gloves on an old iPod touch with no screen protector and confirmed the gloves worked... even when using the fingers without sensor pads (lol). Are sensor pads even needed? So far, Nitrile gloves seem to work on all touchscreens that I’ve tried. The size guide seems misleading. For example , I measured my hand length to be between 7.75” - 8” and found size small to fit bigger than expected (size small glove measurement shown) . Other than that, I’m still testing these gloves when used as a liner. So far, they’re doing the job; keeping my hands warm and dry.
Great fit, Great Feel, Great Customer Service
I have large hands. This means that in addition to having trouble finding gloves that fit, I have a tendency, after about 18 months, to pop my fingers out of the end of some other leading wool glove liners. I just received my Rho's last week and they fit great and they feel great. Not sure why another customer said that these don't work well with touchscreens - mine have worked really well with my iPhone. I will say that I had a seam rip on them after just a couple of wears but customer service was super responsive and addressed my issue right away. I can't give these guys 5 stars because I did have that issue but I wouldn't hesitate to get a second pair.
Great gloves for running
I was looking for lightweight gloves specifically for winter running, and these are perfect. When I run I (and my hands in particular) tend to heat up quickly, so I can't wear gloves that are too heavy, but good quality, breathable, lightweight gloves are surprisingly hard to find. To be clear these would not be very warm for walking around town. But I have been comfortable running in these in temperatures down to around 15F/-10C (as a reference point I typically only wear gloves when it's below freezing, so YMMV), and even during harder workouts my hands haven't overheated. Another great product from Arc'teryx.
Simply the best
These are simply the best liner gloves I have found and the ones I always want to have in my pack - winter and summer. In the winter I usually wear them from the get-to, inside mittens. They slide in and out of mittens/other gloves more easily than most liner gloves because they are thin (but still warm) and fit the hand, well, like a glove. I have an older red pair and the touch screen patches on the index fingers are starting to pull away from the fabric. Perhaps if I hand-washed them instead of machine washing, that wouldn't happen. I haven't worn my new blue ones yet - am just hoping I like them as well as the red ones. I bought two pairs because I love these gloves!
