It works just fine

I bought this light several months ago and use it on my road bike. It's hooked up to the fork and warns other bikers, walkers and joggers that I am on my way. We ride on a a parkway along our local river and share it with many. Including horses on occasion. I saw the gripe about the mounting band but have never had any trouble. This is a great little light for the money. My very first bike like ran off a generator grinding on the back wheel. I'm old. REI is great about busted parts and has an easy return policy. You won't need a receipt. Just be nice...

Small, lightweight, bright, versatile

I bought this mainly for running in the dark and twilight. The white light is bright enough to use as a flashlight for running and the rubber seatpost strap fits over most of my fingers just tightly enough to not slip so that i have both hands free for checking my watch and getting a water bottle. my intent was for it to be a rear-facing red strobe clipped on a visor or hydration system but the white light is so good that i don't need to carry a flashlight. The so-so price is partially offset by the permanent rechargable battery

OK light. Cumbersome and Problematic Attachment

I purchased this product about 3 or 4 months ago. The light itself is great, and I've never had a rechargeable light that holds the charge longer than this one does. Problems started about 3 weeks after I got it when two of the holes in the rubber attachment belt ripped out. It was easy enough to replace by sending off for a new one, and I guess it was a lesson in being careful how one places it on the handle bar and removes it, but I thought three weeks for this to wear out was a shockingly short period of time, and the band is little short to completely go around the bar in the last hole. Fast forward to just now while trying to recharge it. The one problem when this is done is that the rubber belt attachment gets in the way. When recharging, it is necessary to disengage the light device from the belt by lifting a clip and sliding the light forward to reveal the port so that it can be plugged in. This is hard to explain without visualizing it, but the first time that I needed to do this it took a while to figure it out since the port is almost completely hidden from view and the whole sliding forward thing is not obvious. But figure it out I did, although the cryptic instructions don't really describe this very well either. It's also necessary to keep in mind that the clip is very fragile, and If not careful it will snap off which is what just happened. Since the clip is a molded plastic piece on the casing of the light device, the thing is now useless. As I said, I have no problem with the light. It does everything as advertised and more. The attachment, however, is cr@p. It's been problematic from the get go and now has failed utterly and completely. The poor design of the attachment has rendered a perfectly useful and wonderful bike light into a piece garbage.

Meh... battery life not as advertised

Battery life claims to be 5 hours on flashing. I barely got 3 hours before it was nearly dead. other than that, it's OK as a daytime running light. Small and light-weight, so that's nice. But I'll probably keep looking for a BRIGHT, long lasting white flasher.
