Intergenerational Satisfaction and Happiness!!
I got my first Camelbak about 20 years ago. I now have 6 kids of my own ranging from 22-8 years-old, and over the years as they get old enough, every one of them have received a Camelbak for Christmas or Birthdays. I simply won't buy another brand because no other brand compares in quality, practicality, durability, and style. This year for her birthday, my 10-year-old daughter wanted a Camelbak backpack so that when we go hiking, mountain biking, or other adventuring, she could truly have the gear that is a step above them all. (And so she could fit in with the rest of the family.) I am a Camelbak fan for life--and so is the rest of the family!! Thanks for making such amazing products.
Not what I expected
Although it has some great features like the magnet hose clip and large bladder the backpack itself is too small. The waist pockets, which I was most excited about, are very small and can’t hold a smartphone (iPhoneX). The way they sit on your waist also make it very hard to access when the pack is on. I wore it two days in a row for a hike and my back was killing me towards the end of the second day no matter how much I tried to adjust the straps. Wouldn’t be bad for a beginner or a single day hike.

I have always bought Camelbak products and by the description felt this would be perfect with the low rider style. On arrival I loved all of the pockets and buckles, partially loaded and tried it on. The air foil design of 2018 felt like a dagger against my upper back. I added a bit of weight and lowered the weight thinking I hadn’t adjusted the weight properly. The pinch and pressure on mid back was just too painful and sadly I had to return it. I decided I would look locally and try on future hydration packs preferably Camelbak. At a local bike shop found the 2019 SOLSTICE LR and I absolutely love it. The only thing it’s missing is the rainfly, but otherwise a comfortable perfect fit. I do not feel the weight even fully loaded. I would recommend this style for all day and short rides.
Perfect pack for day hikes
Love this bag so much! Perfect for day hikes or runs, or bike rides. I love it because it isn't as bulky as some day packs are but it has plenty of room for water, food and 10 essentials. Highly recommend!
This is my new favorite!
I have a smaller Camelbak 2 liter for day hikes but if its hot and over a couple hours, I usually run out of water. Enter the LUXE! This pack is so comfortable and had the perfect amount of space for a 8 mile hike in Palo Duro Canyon. It was warm that day and the bladder held enough water for me and had some to spare to shower on my dogs when they got hot. It held their water and bowl well and all of my snacks and supplies. I am very pleased with this purchase!

Likes: Small yet holds so much. Lots of pockets. Lots of space. Fits very well. Dislikes: Pockets around the waistline are not removable. This is a first time experience with Camelbak and it has been an amazing one. I am a postal worker out in the heat for about 6 to 8 hours a day. I fill the reservoir with lots of ice and water and am able to have refreshing ice cold water with me at all times. I get so used to the convenience I want to wear it even at home.
Nice pack, but too heavy
I have a Volt13 that is nearly worn out and wanted to update. This looked nice and had the hydration bag, low over the hips like the Volt. This pack, however has an additional plastic part that holds the back away from the pack, possibly for cooling effect and way too much construction, too many compartments and zippers etc--too overbuilt and HEAVY. Sent it back. May try another smaller pack by camelback.
Great Features, Amazing Space!!!
I purchased this Pack because I was in need of alot of space, along with it came more hydration. I am so pleased with my selection, there is so much space & so many unique cool features to this pack. I'm not a crazy hiker or biker but i am an adventurous person & when i need lots of water & lots of space for all the stuff i will packing this is the bag for me. LOVE!!
Awesome Backpack
Great backpack - love everything. 2 things: When the bladder is full, since it's an odd shape and the bladder pocket doesn't unzip all the way, it's a bit difficult to put the full bladder back in. Also the magnet holder could be fastened better. Mine fell off my backpack and off the lift into the snow never to be seen again my 3rd time using it- bummer.

I bought this for a trip to Costa Rica. Plenty of room for sunscreen, snacks and gear for a day of hiking in Monteverde Cloud Forest and Zip Lining in Miramar. Very comfortable.
