Warm weather comfort in town and on the trail
The sandals were easy to adjust, which is good, because I needed to readjust them after my feet got warm and swelled a bit. I walked two or three miles on mixed surfaces (trails and sidewalks) the first time I wore them outside and had no discomfort. I was nervous about the toe piece, that it might rub or be uncomfortable. It felt weird when if first put it on, but it did not rub at all; it makes my foot feel more anchored in the sandal than with others I've worn that are just open. I did expect to have more space in front of my toes, which is why I marked runs small. My understanding is that a sport sandal like this is expected to have some space beyond the toes to protect them. Overall, this will be my go-to first footwear for all casual wear and activities all summer, from driving to walking and hiking as well as any river adventures.
Fits perfect
I was worried after seeing the low rating of these sandals and the complaints of them fitting too small. I wear a size 6 and these fit perfectly. I've never had Chacos before and had no idea all of the straps were adjustable. Seriously love that so you get a truly Customizable, perfect fit.
So comfortable for walking all day!
Most chacos tend to be heavy, these seem more lightweight and feel great on my feet! Very comfortable and the aqua is very pretty. Also they are on clearance, which is a plus.
Runs very small or wrong size charts
The shoes run either very small or the sizing is significantly off. The size which is shown to for European 38 does not fit even on a size 36 foot. These sizing charts need to be fixed. Particularity so as REI, doesn't provide free returns.
Not for the flat footed
Not for people with flat feet or very low arches. Felt like a golf ball under my foot. I tried to get used to them wearing them for a few days on and off for a couple weeks. No change. I wish they would have worked because there are so many features I liked. These darn feet! Everyone else looks so happy walking around in their Chacos!
