Great Urban Boots for Alaska!

Bought these to replace a pair of 10 year old snow boots that had out lasted but served their purpose with dignity. Intrigued by the exchangeable sole. Walk my dog nightly and have found Korkers perfect for the job! My winter world phases between standing ice, black ice, and then snow covered streets for five months. These boots are warm and provide great traction on snow and with the ice cleats sole on slippery ice-covered streets. Have not experienced any shimmy or looseness of the sole inserts (which are easy to change out). Boots are high enough to remain comfortable in fresh snow 8 inches or more and would accommodate gaiters if needed. Have enjoyed Boa boot closure system on other footwear over the years. For best results and to keep the Boa system working indefinitely, I recommend tightening the boots to where they just fit slightly snugly, and not cranking down on the ratchet in an attempt to recreate the stiff structure of a downhill ski boot. Would not recommend for back-country or snowshoe activities. Best for urban winter use, hiking on cleared/compacted trails, or as in-car survival gear for persons living in northern climes who may need to exchange their going-to-work footwear for something more appropriate in an automotive or traffic crisis. Would work for farming activities in climates of variable winter conditions.

Amazing product

I bought these a month ago. I was immediately impressed by the seamless omnitrack system, and the well thought out design. The quality and performance are top notch. The waterproofing barrier was a god send during our expedition to the Canadian Rockies, and my feet stayed warm and comfortable. I would highly recommend these. This was my first pair of Korkers, but definitely won't be my last!
