Preikestolen's Prayer

I have had the dream to hike Preikestolen ( Stavanger Norway) for many years. I finally made the trip to Norway, but unfortunately their summer has not been summer at all; but rain and inclement weather. All morning long the mist and fog covered the mountainside like a heavy blanket. I came prepared with my new water resistant REI Columbia jacket, but I was still hoping to experience the incredible view. I prayed throughout the hike that the fog would clear so we could catch a glimpse of the breathtaking fjord, and the 2000 foot cliff towering above the river. 10 minutes after we reached the top, a huge gust of wind blew the clouds away, and for 30 glorious minutes, the sun shone down on us. My prayer was answered! This photo even captures how I jumped for joy. It did rain as we descended the hike, but my REI jacket kept me happy, warm and dry.
