Here's a nod of admiration to the hiking headliners of 2011: Jake Bramante of Kalispell, Mont., age 34, became the first person to hike all 734 miles of trail within Glacier National Park in a single hiking season. Would you hibernate if you could? We're deep into daylight-shrinking time here in the northern hemisphere, and many of our fellow mammals (and some other creatures) have already bedded down for a long winter's nap.
