As a co-op, REI is overseen by an elected board of directors that is comprised of REI co-op members. REI's Nominating and Governance Committee is now accepting member self-nominations for consideration on the 2012 director ballot.
Serving as an REI director is an important role with significant responsibilities. It requires members with considerable skills in leadership and business acumen and experience, community involvement, prior business board experience and, of course, an appreciation for the outdoors. Detailed nominee criteria is available online at REI.com, and nomination packets can be requested through email or by contacting 253-437-7814.
Nominations will be accepted until August 26, 2011, and all submissions will be reviewed by the board's Nominating and Governance Committee.
